Our Mofos can't get enough of this producer, with this super-generous cabernet, it's easy to see why. All the fruit, oak, tannin and acid that you could possibly need with a softenss and juciness that Barossa cabernet is famous for. A smart wine.

Don't worry, try one of these

Why do we love this wine?

We've said it before and we'll say it again: cabernet is Barossa’s little secret weapon; juicy and full-fruited over a muscular armature. It’s no cool climate cabernet with an empty mid-palate, needing merlot or shiraz to fill it. It fills its own midsection. It is its own beast. All the dark berries and blackcurrant of the variety, but reduced down, chocolatey and licoricey too. Fresh, structured, fleshy, punchy. So tasty.

Frequently Asked Questions

Barossa's warm climate produces Cabernet Sauvignon with naturally concentrated fruit and a full mid-palate, unlike cooler regions where the variety often needs blending partners like Merlot or Shiraz to add body. The intense sunshine and warm nights allow the grapes to develop rich, chocolatey complexity while maintaining the variety's signature blackcurrant character. This creates a self-sufficient wine that doesn't rely on other varietals to fill structural gaps.

The wine's muscular structure and rich blackcurrant flavours make it ideal for red meat dishes, particularly grilled steaks, lamb roasts, or aged beef. The chocolatey and liquorice notes complement dishes with earthy elements like mushroom-based sauces or herb-crusted meats. Its full body and structured tannins can also stand up to strong cheeses like aged cheddar or blue cheese.

Receiving 94 points from both Wine Showcase Magazine and Wine Orbit, plus gold medal recognition, indicates exceptional winemaking consistency and quality. These scores place it in the 'outstanding' category, suggesting the wine demonstrates perfect varietal expression, balance, and complexity. The Five Star Halliday Winery rating also confirms the producer's reputation for consistently delivering premium wines across their range.

The 2021 vintage in Barossa benefited from ideal growing conditions that allowed Cabernet Sauvignon to achieve optimal ripeness while retaining freshness. This balance is evident in the wine's ability to showcase both the variety's classic dark berry characteristics and the region's signature concentration. The vintage timing also means the wine is at an excellent drinking stage now, with enough structure to continue developing over the next 5-8 years.

Serve at 16-18°C to allow the full-bodied character and complex flavours to express properly - too warm and the alcohol dominates, too cold and the rich fruit becomes muted. Decanting for 30-60 minutes will help open up the structured tannins and reveal the chocolatey complexity. Store bottles on their side in a cool, dark place, as this wine has the structure to cellar well for 8-10 years, developing additional savoury complexity over time.
