Why do we love this wine?
So what makes this 2021 release so special? Literally perfect vintage conditions created a "brightly lit" cabernet that flows with elegant restraint. The lifted nose has a gorgeous violet perfume, bright red and dark cherries, with brooding undertones of chestnut and bitter dark chocolate. The palate delivers vivid red and black forest berries in a classical full-bodied frame, extending with great persistence to a long finish marked by sandalwood and finely detailed tannins. The critics are unanimous: 99pts Huon Hooke. 98pts Jeni Port. 98pts Ray Jordan. 98pts Shanteh Wale... you get the idea. This is the real deal. Ready to drink now but built to age gracefully until 2050 or so.
