Every vintage from this Margaret River estate is a serious, considered wine built to last. But the 2019 is the one that gets us really excited. 95 points from Ray Jordan. A nice touch of bottle age. And a drinking window that is, right now, absolutely perfect. Why do we love this wine?
It starts with 95% (ish) cabernet sauvignon with a touch of malbec and petit verdot adding texture and intrigue. French oak for 16 months. Years of careful cellaring. The result is a wine of immense pleasure right now, with the stuffing to keep going gracefully for years to come. The tannins have spent years finding their place and landed somewhere seamless and elegant, giving the wine a presence that's genuinely impressive without ever feeling heavy-handed. The finish is long, generous and complex - the kind that keeps evolving in the glass long after the first sip. Margaret River Cabernet at its absolute best. From a producer who rarely puts a foot wrong. Don't sit on this decision as long as you could sit on the wine.
