We were lucky enough to have this winemaker in for a tasting at Mofo HQ recently and this lovely drop truly was the standout. He described 2012 as in the top 5 vintages since the 80's and explained how this is from vineyards in what is called the 'Golden Triangle' of Barossa. This area got its name as it has always produced 'ripper wines' and this one is no exception - straight from the horse's mouth.

Why do we love this wine?
100% French oak, roughly 20% new. The barrels have been air dried for 4 years (instead of the normal 2) which creates a more elegant and softer tannin structure. This genuinely is the 'creme de la creme' of Barossa cabernet. Deep rich fruits, full bodied, acid and tannin beautifully in line and some tertiary characteristics finally peeping through. This wine will absolutely go further if you don't want to drink it right away, but we think you might not be able to resist.
