Why do we love this wine?
Ondarre do things different. They do things better. That's not just us towing a company line, in fact I've seen it first hand. Their wines are impressively quality driven, and they're responsible for some of the best Rioja reds we've ever had. Yep, I said it. The 'Valdebarón' shows off some of the rarer gems of the region, blending tempranillo and mazuelo (pronounced ma-sway-low) for a slightly grippier blend that is guaranteed to stand the test of time. Still rich in chocolate, vanilla, coconut and wild berry notes, it's recognisably Rioja. An impressive wine, in every way.
