Why do we love this case?
This is the kind of case that makes you stop mid-scroll and go, “Wait, WTF!?” We've raided the staff favourites list and pulled together a seriously impressive collection of reds that we reckon every Mofo should get their hands on.
We're talking premium Shiraz from Powell & Son, Schild Estate, Fox Creek and Yelland & Papps, a cracking Cabernet from Nightfall, and a splash of Pertaringa GSM to round things out. Expect rich dark fruit, spice, smooth tannins and plenty of personality across the case.
Big names, serious pedigree and a lineup we'd happily take home ourselves. WTF!! This one's staff approved.
1x Schild Estate Prämie Shiraz 2021
Red — Shiraz
Barossa — Australia
Plush blackberries lead the initial swell of fruit on the palate, but then there is much more to discover. Raspberries, black cherries, nettle, espresso, toffee, bramble, cassis and chocolatey, vanillin oak... a certifiable explosion of complex flavour. The wine is structurally perfect, with tannins that build up the gums and toward the lasting finish. The fruit is along for the ride the whole way, persisting through the finish to finally punctuate the wine with moreish juicy berry generosity. A wine that practically begs you to lift the glass to your mouth and take another sip, and who am I to deny it?

1x Nightfall Norma Cabernet Sauvignon 2022
Red — Cabernet Sauvignon
Coonawarra — Australia
The Brand family basically put Coonawarra on the map. That's not an exaggeration - it's just history. And Nightfall is their passion project. The thing they make when they want to show exactly what this legendary piece of Australian wine country is truly capable of. Classy doesn't even begin to cover it. This is the flagship - Cabernet Sauvignon from a single vineyard in the heart of Coonawarra. The kind of wine that makes you stop mid-conversation and pay proper attention. Dark fruit, clove and a fine-grained tannin structure that's built for the long haul - impressive intensity without a single rough edge anywhere. This is Coonawarra Cabernet at its most sophisticated and composed. Structured enough to cellar confidently for years. Compelling enough to open tonight with something worthy alongside it.

1x Powell & Son The Blend Shiraz 2023
Red — Shiraz
Barossa — Australia
The return of one our most-requested wines of all time. The Blend - from Australian winemaking savant Dave Powell - is a remarkable wine. Breadth, weight, rusticity, opulence - there's not a box it doesn't tick. It is a wine approaching perfection. Don't let the name fool you, this is 100% Barossa shiraz. We thought this wine was gone forever, we grieved, we healed, we moved on... and then we got a call... and not a second too late. Just when we thought Powell & Sons couldn’t impress us more, they raised the bar higher than it’s ever been before. This seems to good to be true, right? We’re pinching ourselves too: it’s not every day that you get the best sub-regions of the Barossa (Marananga playing a big part of that), with the fruit of each vineyard separately nurtured and carefully blended after 18 months ageing in French oak. The name says it all, but this isn’t just any blend: it’s the king of blends. All shiraz. All star fruit. All the best oak. All in one neat little parcel. If this doesn’t tickle your fancy, truly nothing will.

1x Fox Creek Old Vine Shiraz 2022
Red — Shiraz
McLaren Vale — Australia
This is no shrinking violet - it’s an unapologetically plush, full-bodied red built to impress the big-shiraz faithful. Think dark fruit liqueur meets espresso and plum sauce, with waves of chocolate, clove, date and anise all rolling in like a flavour parade. It’s rich, velvety and just this side of decadent, but not without brains. There’s iron and bay leaf cutting through, adding a savoury edge that keeps it from tipping into syrupy territory. Then the finish hits - long, dark and insanely deep - leaving you both satisfied and curious for another glass. This is a wine for the loyal McLaren Vale shiraz-heads. The ones who don’t apologise for loving flavour, weight and a bit of drama in their glass. If that’s you, clear some space in the decanter.

1x Yelland & Papps Stonewell Single Vineyard Shiraz 2024
Red — Shiraz
Barossa — Australia
Grown in Stonewell, right in the heart of the Barossa, from a block that's been delivering the goods since 2016, year after year. This is a full colour, full flavour Barossa Shiraz, with a mineral edge running underneath that gives it its own identity rather than just ticking the regional boxes. Violets, black cherry and cracked pepper run through a savoury palate, backed by chalky tannins and an uncommon vibrancy that keeps it all ticking along to a finish that hangs around a lot longer than you'd expect. A bit of wild ferment and a light hand in the winery keep everything focused on what the fruit and the site are actually saying, nothing dressed up, nothing hidden behind sluggish, overdone oak. A pure Barossa wine for Barossa purists.

1x Pertaringa 'Belonging to the Hills' GSM 2025
Red — GSM
McLaren Vale — Australia
The holy trinity, GSM, in the hands of a benchmark producer. You might think it seems too good to be true, but rest assured Mofo, this is as good as it gets. Our bestselling Grenache blend of all time - for a reason. The Pertaringa name is no stranger to the Aussie household. The iconic Hardy family are to wine what vegemite is to toast: a perfect match. Take a great vintage, a world-famous blend, and classic McLaren Vale calibre and you have a wine that is almost impossible to get sick of. 'Jubey' was a word thrown around a lot on the tasting bench, so you know it must be true. Luscious, smooth, and fruit driven: this is a wine you can really sink your teeth into.
