Why do we love this case?
When it comes to Pinot Noir, our staff know exactly what they want in their glass — elegance, freshness, silky texture and plenty of personality. So we’ve brought together a collection of our current favourites in the Staff Picks - Pinot Noir Edition.
There’s youthful energy from Tucks Estate and Stream & Stone, single-vineyard pedigree from Yering Lane and Trapeze Six, plus Proud Primary Produce and a beautifully aged Handpicked Regional Selections 2017 bringing even more character to the mix.
Silky, expressive and seriously drinkable - these are the Pinots getting the staff tick of approval.
1x Trapeze Six JS Vineyard Pinot Noir 2024
Red — Pinot Noir
Yarra Valley — Australia
The Yarra Valley's most exciting secret just landed on our doorstep. Shortlisted for 'Dark Horse' of the Year, this tiny producer has been quietly making some of the finest pinot noir in the country - almost exclusively for their wine club members. Until today. We pulled some strings... we got you! Oh, and the 95 Halliday score is all the proof we need... This is a Halliday Dark Horse of the Year shortlisted producer - one of the most exciting under-the-radar names in the Yarra Valley right now - and this single vineyard pinot from a Steels Creek site planted in 1992 show us exactly why the wine world is starting to pay very close attention. Light, bright and wildly fragrant from the first sniff. Red cherry, pomegranate, incense and delicate florals on the nose, with an energetic, beautifully balanced palate that's all finesse and precision. Quietly powerful in the best possible way - the kind of pinot that reveals more and more the longer you sit with it... Go on, have a seat!
You'd pay $55 full price.

1x Yering Lane Single Vineyard Pinot Noir 2025
Red — Pinot Noir
Yarra Valley — Australia
This is a Yarra Valley pinot with the precise prettiness that we've all come to expect from - huge call incoming - Australia's greatest pinot region. Grown in the luscious Yarra Valley hills of Gruyere, from the ever-popular MV6 clone, and matured for 10 months in French oak, it’s a wine that nails the balance between purity and complexity. The nose is singing - raspberry, cherry, poached rhubarb and a cool note of spearmint, with oak spice drifting through. The palate is built on bright acidity and soft, powdery tannins. Red currants, hibiscus and baked cherry pie. It’s layered, lifted and built to charm - a perfect match for mushroom gnocchi, but equally at home as the sole star of the show. You could absolutely drink now or watch it evolve over the next 5-6 years - the choice is yours.

1x Stream & Stone Pinot Noir 2025
Red — Pinot Noir
Tasmania — Australia
Graceful and elegant, this Tamar Valley Pinot leads with raspberry, strawberry, plum and a touch of spice - vibrant, fruit-forward, and damn near impossible to put down once you've had a sip. But there's more going on underneath... Savoury from the first swirl, with tilled earth, black tea, char and smoky wood setting a moodier tone, joined by cocao and dried herbs. The fruit steps back here, letting that earthy, savoury character take the lead. Soft, supple tannins bring roundness and balance throughout. A Pinot with real personality - pretty on one side, properly savoury on the other.
You'd pay $50 full price.

1x Tucks Estate Pinot Noir 2025
Red — Pinot Noir
Mornington Peninsula — Australia
Mornington’s cool climate is on full display here; bright red-fruited lift and fine, subtle structure. Gentle handling and measured oak deployment keep the style clean and focused, but still offerig breadth through the mid palate. Red plum, cherry and blue-fruit notes lead, opening into earth and light spice. The palate is supple with fine, persistent tannins. A savoury undertone adds depth. The finish is long and quietly textural. Load up on this one, it's a delight to drink now but the palate weight, structure, and complexity put it in good stead to cellar well. A knockout drop from one of the regions very best.

1x Proud Primary Produce Up the Mountain Pinot Noir 2024
Red — Pinot Noir
Yarra Valley — Australia
With fruit from some of the most pristine sites in the Yarra, including an east-facing hill in Gruyere, with 20-year-old vines rooted in classic duplex clay loam (really good soil for grapes). It’s a thoughtfully crafted wine, hand-picked, sorted with care, fermented with 50% whole bunch, and matured in old barriques to let the fruit do the talking. And it's talking our bloody ears off! This is elegant, expressive, and deeply rooted in site and style. If you’re a pinot drinker who values nuance and texture, this one should be on your radar. Bright, vibrant, red-fruited and full-throated. There's a confidence, almost arrogance, to the understated nature of this wine - it's a rockstar, and it knows it, no need to show off.
You'd pay $38 full price.

1x Handpicked Regional Selections Pinot Noir 2017
Red — Pinot Noir
Yarra Valley — Australia
Every year, this producer goes hunting for the finest fruit in the country. No fixed address, no postcode loyalty - just an obsessive pursuit of quality wherever the vintage is delivering it best. In 2017, the Yarra Valley called. And the Pinot Noir practically demanded to be made. So here we are with a delicious little aged Pinot - how good! Classic Yarra Pinot. Plump cherries, ripe strawberries and a lovely earthy, leafy quality on the nose - lifted by subtle spice that gives it a savoury depth and complexity beyond its light-footed frame. The palate is bright and lively, with juicy red fruit, soft supportive tannins and a long, herb-flecked finish that keeps revealing itself long after the glass is empty.
You'd pay $30 full price.
