1x Cape Barren Rare Bird Shiraz 2020
Red — Shiraz
McLaren Vale — Australia
Rich, refined and downright ravishing. This delectable McLaren Vale shiraz is not only crafted so impeccably that you can pop it down for the next 10+ years, it's also drinking absolutely wonderfully right now after 5 or 6 years of ageing. This rare drop from a McLaren Vale powerhouse is just coming into its prime drinking window now, and wowser, is it singing. From 35+ year old vines, and after 24 months in French and American oak, this drop has it all. Rich, dark plums and bramble berries layered atop sweet cedar and sandalwood envelop the olfactories with finesse. The palate is equally rewarding, and opens up impeccably in the glass. Pure silk, with dark chocolate melting onto the rich, ripe dark fruit profile. Feel free to try this over a couple of days - it'll reward you greatly.
You’d pay $150 full price.

Tasting Notes
1x Mitolo Savitar Shiraz 2021
Red — Shiraz
McLaren Vale — Australia
Wonderfully textured, the wine is built around a long mineral acidity which carries intensity through the palate. White pepper, cedar and elegant allspice notes linger throughout the lengthy, linear finish. Matured for 20 months in 85% new French, 5% New American and 10% Seasoned French Oak hogshead barrels - drink it now or dig a hole in your backyard and forget about it. You could age this one for 15 years if you wanted but we're willing to bet you won't be able to keep your hands off it for that long!
You’d pay $105 full price.

Tasting Notes
1x Fox Creek Old Vine Shiraz 2022
Red — Shiraz
McLaren Vale — Australia
This is no shrinking violet - it’s an unapologetically plush, full-bodied red built to impress the big-shiraz faithful. Think dark fruit liqueur meets espresso and plum sauce, with waves of chocolate, clove, date and anise all rolling in like a flavour parade. It’s rich, velvety and just this side of decadent, but not without brains. There’s iron and bay leaf cutting through, adding a savoury edge that keeps it from tipping into syrupy territory. Then the finish hits - long, dark and insanely deep - leaving you both satisfied and curious for another glass. This is a wine for the loyal McLaren Vale shiraz-heads. The ones who don’t apologise for loving flavour, weight and a bit of drama in their glass. If that’s you, clear some space in the decanter.

Tasting Notes
1x Geoff Merrill Pimpala Vineyards Shiraz 2017
Red — Shiraz
McLaren Vale — Australia
This is single-vineyard shiraz, (personally) barrel selected from the reserve range. Not to be confused with Geoff Merrill’s ‘Pimpala Road’ range, this Pimpala Vineyard shiraz is genuinely on a whole new level. Don't miss out on this, wonderful stuff. This has spent no less than 20 months in French and American oak barrels, plus over three years in the cellar to let all its powerful fruit and decadent oak flavour all meld together. It’s like liquid black chocolate cake, with the Vale’s dark chocolate and heady spice flavours oozing head-on into dark cherry, blackcurrant leaf and roasted coconut. We’re always happy to see Geoff’s wines in the warehouse, and even happier to see them in our glass.
You’d pay $65 full price.

Tasting Notes
1x Haselgrove Il Padrone Shiraz 2021
Red — Shiraz
McLaren Vale — Australia
Lovers of classic Vale shiraz will adore the Il Padrone! It’s big, rich & round (we’re salivating already and offers loads of inky goodness to get lost in. There’s plush, chewy berries with hints of peppery spice and leather that float intriguingly across the palate. Plums, blueberries and juicy black cherries dominate the fruit spectrum, in that inimitable Vale dark coffee-cake profile. It’ll get even more interesting in a few years’ time, but I, for one, won’t be able to keep my hands off it.
You’d pay $55 full price.

Tasting Notes
1x Jericho Sand Patch GSM 2023
Red — GSM
McLaren Vale — Australia
Bright, lively, juicy and spicy. Everything you could ask for in a modern McLaren Vale GSM. A delicate balance between ripe, sweet fruit and savoury, structured aspects. BBQs, pizza nights, park parties... whatever you're up to, this wine's up to the challenge.
A modern iteration of a South Australian classic. Ok, yes, GSM blends are a French invention, but they really have found a home in South Australia, more specifically McLaren Vale, more specifically again, Blewitt Springs. Vibrant, energetic, bright, cheery, lively... you get where we're going with this, this is a modern style, one to be enjoyed at a young age with yummy food and smiling company. A balance of savoury notes, subtle tannin and youthful, juicy, bright red fruit. Find us a red wine drinker who says they can't find the fun in this wine and we'll find you a liar. Made to be enjoyed.
You’d pay $45 full price.
