1x Maverick Ahrens’ Creek Paulsen Shiraz 2022

Red — Shiraz

Barossa — Australia

Maverick's Ahrens' vineyard is hallowed ground - this little plot of land holds some of the oldest producing shiraz vines on the planet, and that's no exaggeration. In the hands of a master winemaker like Ron Brown, this fruit is crafted into something utterly jaw-dropping! Trust us on this one - and the 96pt score AND the 4.4 Vivino rating - this'll blow your hair back. Stick your nose in the glass and you'll see what we're on about - dark berries, cake spice, and a little smokiness for good measure, all supported by a good lick of cedary oak. It’s deep, layered and alluring as all-get-out - the kind of wine that makes you pause mid-conversation and go, “oh, sh*t - that’s good". On the palate, it’s all concentration and confidence. Plush dark fruit with a fine structure, spice and a savoury edge that gives it real class. It’s powerful, but it’s classy too - no shouting, just quite command. In short: This wine doesn’t ask to be noticed - it demands it. A bottle that’ll make any dinner, date or quiet night in feel like a grand occasion.

You'd pay $190 full price.

1x Hewitson Strawberry Hill Shiraz 2024

Red — Shiraz

Barossa — Australia

This wine will exceed your expectations; with layers of flavourful complexity, you’ll discover something new with every sip. The wine opens with an array of forest fruits of blackcurrant, blackberry and ripened plums. Non fruit characteristics are already shining through, especially over the palate where you’ll be treated to notes of dark chocolate, fresh coffee bean and dustings of cacao. The tannins are fine grained. The length on the finish just keeps going and the 15 months this shiraz spent in French oak prior to bottling ensures you can cellar this and revel in its maturity for years to come.

You'd pay $150 full price.

1x Powell & Son Marananga Ironstone Shiraz 2023

Red — Shiraz

Barossa — Australia

You know Powell & Son. Their Barossa Shiraz 'The Blend', is the most popular we've ever sold - and if you've had it, you already understand why Dave Powell has one of the most respected names in Australian wine. This is a different conversation entirely. The Marananga Ironstone is where Powell & Son shift into another gear completely. We're going right to the top-shelf with this one! That classic Powell philosophy - traditional techniques, old concrete fermenters, basket pressing, minimal intervention - but applied to one of the most prized vineyard sites in the entire Barossa. The kind of fruit that makes even experienced winemakers stop and take notice. The result is Barossa Shiraz of extraordinary depth and presence. Dark plum, black cherry and blackberry at the core, with a richness and concentration that fills every corner of the palate and a svelte, mouth-coating tannin structure that gives it both immediate impact and serious cellaring potential. This is the style that put Australian wine on the world stage - opulent, intense and completely unique.

You'd pay $110 full price.

1x Schild Estate Prämie Shiraz 2021

Red — Shiraz

Barossa — Australia

Plush blackberries lead the initial swell of fruit on the palate, but then there is much more to discover. Raspberries, black cherries, nettle, espresso, toffee, bramble, cassis and chocolatey, vanillin oak... a certifiable explosion of complex flavour. The wine is structurally perfect, with tannins that build up the gums and toward the lasting finish. The fruit is along for the ride the whole way, persisting through the finish to finally punctuate the wine with moreish juicy berry generosity. A wine that practically begs you to lift the glass to your mouth and take another sip, and who am I to deny it?

You'd pay $90 full price.

1x Yelland & Papps Single Vineyard Greenock Shiraz 2024

Red — Shiraz

Barossa — Australia

This is Barossa shiraz with brains as well as brawn - nothing overdone, just flavour that feels both powerful and controlled. Smoothness, complexity and depth all wrapped up in a velvety package. There’s opulence, fruit weight, fine tannins and a hell of a long finish on this one. Halliday’s already dropped 96 points on it - we’ll just say it straight: this is utterly delicious.

You'd pay $63 full price.

1x St Hugo Signature Shiraz 2020

Red — Shiraz

Barossa — Australia

Five years of graceful development on a Barossa Shiraz of this calibre is a beautiful thing. What was once a powerfully structured, firm and concentrated young wine has evolved into something considerably more compelling - still powerful, but silky, sophisticated and deeply satisfying, while still carrying all the grunt and presence that makes Barossa Shiraz so special. This one comes from one of the most important names in the entire history of Australian wine, full stop. It's no surprise we've ended up with an absolute belter of a wine! Deep, saturated and inky in the glass. Blackberry, blood plum and blue fruits on the nose, with dark chocolate, mocha and a savoury spice complexity building underneath. The palate is full-bodied and rich, with fine chalky tannins that have softened beautifully over time and a finish of impressive length and texture. Powerful but perfectly balanced - the kind of wine that earned a Trophy for best Shiraz at the 2023 Global Fine Wine Challenge and absolutely deserved it. Drink it now with something substantial from the grill. Or put it away until 2030 and beyond and watch it continue to develop into something extraordinary.

You'd pay $55 full price.
