2x Three Elms Timbertops Gewurztraminer 2022
White — Gewurztraminer
Frankland River — Australia
Dead-set, you couldn't find a better wine for spicy asian food. The real 'BYO Bandit'. This is not your usual dry Aussie gewürz. It’s generous, silky and just a little bit decadent, with that balanced burst of sweetness dialled in perfectly to boost the perfume and texture. A reminder of how expressive this variety can be when given the freedom to shine.
You’d pay $35 full price.

2x Peter Drayton Wildstreak Old Vine Semillon 2024
White — Semillon
Hunter Valley — Australia
Hunter Valley semillon is about as Aussie as it gets when it comes to wine (save for a juicy South Aussie shiraz cab blend, maybe). There's nothing like it in the world - clean, crisp dry and light in its youth, this will gather palate weight, intensity and flavour as it matures. A wonderful example. Light, bright but not overly tight. Hunter semillon, made in the classic style, is all about that zippy acid and zesty citrus. White flowers, candied lemon zest and lime juice. Pear, green apple, pithy grapefruit - this is super classic stuff. There's some steely quality which frames penetrating, promising acidity. This is a slam dunk for lovers of semillon - right in the bread basket.
You’d pay $30 full price.

2x Stage Door Wine Co. Gruner Veltliner 2023
White — Gruner Veltliner
Eden Valley — Australia
With a lick of old French oak, this grüner has an added layer of complexity and intrigue, while never straying from the classic (and delicious) notes of fresh citrus, white pepper and floral prettiness. It's no wonder Kim Brebach gave this one 95 points! Truly at home by itself or with your favourite spicy dish. Pale golden yellow with an intriguing green hue - this 2023 grüner veltliner announces its serious intentions before you even lift it to your nose. Floral notes dance over varietal spice, creating an aromatic complexity that proves this isn't your typical Australian white. Here's where it gets interesting: Partial vinification in second-hand French oak transforms what could be a simple zingy wine into a full-bodied white with genuine depth. Gooseberry and ripe grapefruit cascade across your palate, while subtle grip provides the structure and balance that separates good grüner from genuinely exceptional examples.

2x Windowrie Estate Pig in the House Picpoul Blanc 2024
White — Other White
Central Ranges — Australia
Aromatic, delicate and wholly pleasing. A fantastic accompaniment for oysters, prawns or any other seafood you can think of! If you love gris/grigio, sauv blanc or albarino, this is right in your wheelhouse. Bright but delicate aromatics of pear, apple and zesty lime set up a subtly structured palate with refreshing acidity and a soft, lingering finish. Looking to try something new without completely leaving your comfort zone? This is the one. Although unique in its elegance and subtlety, there's plenty of familiar flavours for the Australian palate on offer, zesty, refreshing, citrusy and slightly tropical. A complete and interesting table-white and, as the producer says, "this wine is a great accompaniment to oysters, seafood in general, and sunny afternoons".
You’d pay $28 full price.

2x Gapsted Limited Release Fiano 2023
White — Fiano
Alpine & King Valleys — Australia
These Italian grapes seem to do bloody well in the King Valley, and more and more producers are catching on. Luckily, Gapsted have a pretty handy head start, and have got the formula down pat. Mediterranean freshness, with wonderfully sunny citrus - think lime, orange blossom, lemon and fragrant honeysuckle. There’s hints of ripe nectarine, too, and a sprinkle of sweet spice kicking in on the close. Delightful stuff, really.
You’d pay $28 full price.
