1x Jim Brand Wines The Pursuit 'Museum Release' Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

Red — Cabernet Sauvignon

Coonawarra — Australia

Perfection - we expect no less from this standout producer. An iconic name of Coonawarra, and a wine to follow suit. 8 years under the belt has this beauty primed and raring to go.
Whenever we have this producer at the tasting bench, you can be sure there's a few of us salivating over the wines. This cabernet is always an absolute standout, and we all nod in agreement that this has to be one of the best value cabernets we've ever sold. Ever. An extroverted red which refuses to back down, this wine is fragrant with dark forest fruits seducing the nose, while traces of mint and cedar oak add a twist of regional character. A torrent of ripe plum, dark berry and blackcurrant make their presence known on the palate -  clearly dominating but steering clear of overwhelming the tastebuds. The finish is superb with great length and a dry finale. An outstanding example of how to balance power with restraint, and succeed - this magnificent cab shows others how it’s done.

You'd pay $80 full price.

1x School House 'Block C1' Cabernet Sauvignon 2020

Red — Cabernet Sauvignon

Coonawarra — Australia

This wine truly shows the best of what the famed region has to offer, as it walks the tightrope between power and elegance with perfect poise. There are ripe dark fruits of plum and cassis, wrapped up in fine tannins and complimented by notes of toasty oak. It is intense, but also wonderfully balanced. We don’t need to say much about the ageing potential of cabernet with all that structure and tannin, just know that this one is ready to serve you for many (many) years to come.

1x Reschke Bos Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

Red — Cabernet Sauvignon

Coonawarra — Australia

Aged cabernet is a glorious thing, particularly from top producer, in the leading cabernet region of Coonawarra. These wines are made to last, with classic cabernet structure and grace. Vibrant blackcurrant and oak have come together, tannins mellowed and earthy, secondary elements emerged. Unless you have a cellar full of aged wine, this is possibly the best chance to pick up some absolutely stunning aged cab.

You'd pay $55 full price.

1x Penley Estate Estate Grown Cabernet Sauvignon 2022

Red — Cabernet Sauvignon

Coonawarra — Australia

Nobody does cabernet quite like Penley, and nobody appreciates Penley quite like us. We love ‘em. Seriously, these guys are Coonawarra legends - take Kate Goodman as a prime example, taking out Halliday Winemaker of the Year in the 2024 Companion. Seriously, that says it all. For lovers of a hearty red, look no further than this estate grown cabernet. It's so luxurious, you won't know what you've done to deserve it. Let us be the first to say: you're worth it Mofo.

1x Rymill Classic Cabernet Sauvignon 2020

Red — Cabernet Sauvignon

Coonawarra — Australia

Complex, harmonious and elegant, this is a beautiful tribute to Coonawarra. Bestowed with a 4.1 Vivino rating (at time of writing) and made by one of the region’s most beloved wineries, it comes as no surprise that the identity of this distinctive red needs to be concealed - especially at this price. A symphony of juicy plum, blackcurrant, bay leaf and eucalypt combine with dense fruit cake and dark chocolate, leading to a plush and lingering crescendo.

You'd pay $39 full price.

1x Parker Estate Abbey Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2021

Red — Cabernet Sauvignon

Coonawarra — Australia

An exceptional showcase of time and place. This wine could only be from Coonawarra, only from 2021 and - if we're being real - only from Parker Estate. This wine will be drinking beautifully from right now until 2035 - to make a conservative estimate. Sourced from Parker Estate's renowned ‘Abbey’ vineyard in southern Coonawarra - where the unique microclimate delivers a longer ripening season and the world-famous terra rossa soils make their mark on every single grape. The result? A tighter tannin structure, deeper fruit concentration, and serious cellar-worthy swagger. That said, this wine is drinking wonderfully already, at such a young age, and those who like their wines with a bit of grunt will find happiness in its graceful austerity. Or, if you're one for cellaring, dig a whole in the backyard, set you're alarm for 2035 and forget about it. The magic of stelvin-sealed bottle development will take care of the rest.

Frequently Asked Questions

Coonawarra's famous terra rossa soil - a thin strip of red earth over limestone - creates ideal conditions for Cabernet Sauvignon. This unique terroir produces wines with distinctive eucalyptus and mint characters alongside classic blackcurrant flavours. The region's cool climate allows for extended ripening, developing complex tannin structures that age beautifully, which is why many of these wines have earned museum release status.

This collection showcases how Coonawarra Cabernet evolves across different years, from the mature 2016 museum releases to the vibrant 2022 vintage. Each vintage reflects unique seasonal conditions - the older wines demonstrate how Cabernet develops leather, cedar and meaty complexity with age, while newer vintages show fresh blackberry and spice characters. This variety lets you taste the progression of flavour development over time.

Scores of 95-96 points from Wine Orbit and Wine Showcase, plus Halliday Special Value Awards, indicate exceptional quality at accessible prices. The Halliday Winemaker of the Year 2024 recognition shows these producers are at the top of their craft. Gold medals and Five Star ratings demonstrate consistent excellence across multiple vintages, making this pack a reliable choice for both immediate enjoyment and cellaring.

Serve these full-bodied reds at 16-18°C to showcase their rich blackcurrant and cedar characters. The meaty, spicy flavours pair beautifully with grilled lamb, aged beef, or strong cheeses like aged cheddar. The eucalyptus and mint notes make them particularly good with herb-crusted meats or dishes featuring rosemary and thyme.

Absolutely - Coonawarra Cabernet is renowned for its aging potential, and several bottles in this pack are already museum releases proving their longevity. The combination of structured tannins, balanced acidity, and complex flavour compounds means these wines will continue developing leather, cedar and earthy complexity for 10-15 years. Store them in a cool, dark place and watch the blackberry fruit evolve into more savoury, sophisticated flavours.
