Why do we love this case?
We all know the expression about dangling a carrot in front of someone. But what if this entire case of wine is ‘carrots’ so to speak? You’ll get 10 bottles of Pirramimmas best, probably enough reason in itself to grab a case. But why stop there? We’ve added the ultimate carrot, not one - but two bottles of their lauded 'The Earl' shiraz, which is nothing short of a showstopper. All carrots, no sticks...that’s how we roll.
2x Pirramimma The Earl Shiraz 2021
Red — Shiraz
McLaren Vale — Australia
A bold and rich expression of McLaren Vale, even for this mob. 2021 proves itself, again, to be one of the all-time MV vintages. Lush blood plums and black liquorice with well integrated, cedar-like oak and a cleverly interwoven tannin structure that will endure for many years to come. Although drinking wonderfully now, this wine will absolutely go the distance showing fantastic acid, fruit, tannin and oak. You can try to see how far it'll go if you like, but with a wine this tasty, we'd bet the farm that it'll outlast your patience.

Full bodied, but balanced with pepper and spice, there are just so many layers to discover in this wine. Laden with luscious, ripe blackberries, earthy blackcurrants, mocha, hints of cedar and a dollop of liquorice, you’re in for a treat with this divine, velvety red.

2x Pirramimma Heritage Limited Edition Cabernet Sauvignon 2022
Red — Cabernet Sauvignon
McLaren Vale — Australia
Who doesn’t love a little bit of low-yielding, full-bodied, South Australian cabernet? We know we do. Who does low-yielding, full-bodied, South Australian cabernet better than Pirramimma? We'll let you answer that one, if you can.
Sourced from Pirramimma’s old cabernet vineyards in McLaren Vale, luscious blackberry, blueberry, mint and capsicum notes hum alongside cedar and toasted almond notes from time in oak. Secondary characters of black olive, tobacco and rosemary are starting to poke through as well. No need to rush though as this has another decade plus of development left in the bottle. For now or for the future, the choice is yours.

2x Pirramimma Heritage Limited Edition Cabernet Shiraz 2021
Red — Cabernet Blend
McLaren Vale — Australia
Here’s another vintage of this absolutely divine wine. Pirramimma are a fave of many (many, many) a Mofo, this time delivering their all-Aussie blend of cabernet and shiraz. From three of their best vineyards, including Ironstone, and some vines planted back in the 1950's, this wine shows off arguable the best vines of the region. Winemaker Geoff Johnston describes the wine as “a fine balance of the sweeter fine-tuned cassis of cabernet, with the plummy, blueberry and black cherry savoury notes of juicy shiraz". Couldn’t have said it better myself. If you’ve had the chance to enjoy any of the Pirramimma wine in the past, then you know, this is sure to impress.

2x Pirramimma Heritage Limited Edition GSM 2021
Red — GSM
McLaren Vale — Australia
When it comes to quality and consistency, Pirramimma is solid as a rock. They’ve been at it for almost 130 years, so it’s to be expected. This GSM is beautifully balanced, hitting all the right notes in terms of fruit, oak and tannin. The nose exhibits blackberry, plum and toffee, along with hints of pomegranate and cedar. On the palate there’s raspberry, more plum, cranberry and vanillin. We suspect this one will move faster than you can say GSM.
You’d pay $50 full price.

Far be it from us to deny this craving. Welcome to the next heavyweight champion: the love child of cabernet sauvignon and petit verdot! Fun fact: Pirramimma were amongst the boom of petit verdot plantings in the 1980's, and their vines have been tended to with care through the highs and lows of its popularity. This wine is the next hottest thing: we're talking dense dark berries, a bit of bramble and herb, melting together with dark chocolate and freshly roasted coffee beans. Enough for you, mofo?
