1x Schild Estate Three Springs Shiraz 2021

Red — Shiraz

Barossa — Australia

This particular vineyard, in the Rowland Flat area of the Barossa, sits at 380m above sea-level. At this altitude, Barossa vineyards traditionally produce much lower yields creating highly concentrated fruit of exceptional quality. From the first whiff it's quite apparent, this is a really smart wine. A perfumed nose of the expected dark fruits with floral elements of rose petal and violets. On the palate, juicy plums, dark chocolate, pepper, spice and, of course, a long, smooth, oak-driven finish. This drop is as intense as it is complex and will continue to impress for many years to come. Very, very impressive.

You'd pay $180 full price.

1x Pirramimma The Earl Shiraz 2022

Red — Shiraz

McLaren Vale — Australia

A bold and rich expression of McLaren Vale, even for this mob. 2022 proves itself, again, to be possibly the best vintage in McLaren Vale's long and storied history. Lush blood plums and black liquorice with well integrated, cedar-like oak and a cleverly interwoven tannin structure that will endure for many years to come. Although drinking wonderfully now, this wine will absolutely go the distance showing fantastic acid, fruit, tannin and oak. You can try to see how far it'll go if you like, but with a wine this tasty, we'd bet the farm that it'll outlast your patience.

You'd pay $150 full price.

1x Mitolo Savitar Shiraz 2021

Red — Shiraz

McLaren Vale — Australia

Wonderfully textured, the wine is built around a long mineral acidity which carries intensity through the palate. White pepper, cedar and elegant allspice notes linger throughout the lengthy, linear finish. Matured for 20 months in 85% new French, 5% New American and 10% Seasoned French Oak hogshead barrels - drink it now or dig a hole in your backyard and forget about it. You could age this one for 15 years if you wanted but we're willing to bet you won't be able to keep your hands off it for that long!

You'd pay $105 full price.

1x Neldner Road Neldner Road Shiraz 2021

Red — Shiraz

Barossa — Australia

From Australian winemaking savant Dave Powell - is a remarkable wine. Breadth, weight, rusticity, opulence - there's not a note it doesn't strike or a box it doesn't tick. It is a wine approaching perfection. Expect a classic Barossa Shiraz experience: deep, dark berries, subtle spice, and a polished, structured finish. This is magnificent Australian shiraz. Just when we thought Dave Powell's winemaking couldn’t impress us more, he's raised the bar higher than it’s ever been before. This seems to good to be true, right? Planted over 30 years ago from cuttings taken from the oldest vines on the Neldner Road Vineyard - the same vines that give us the iconic Kraehe shiraz - the 2021 Neldner Road is a celebration of Barossa terroir. All shiraz. All star fruit. All the best oak. All in one neat little parcel. If this doesn’t tickle your fancy, truly nothing will.

You'd pay $100 full price.

1x Penley Estate Steyning Cabernet Sauvignon 2022

Red — Cabernet Sauvignon

Coonawarra — Australia

Premium cab from Coonawarra doesn’t easily come at this price, just so you know. So just feel a little bit special being here, with us and this wine, right now. This is one of those wines that reminds us of the golden era of wine quality-meets-affordability. It’s full-bodied but lithe at the same time - deep and rich, but with composure and purpose. This winery’s put a lot of time, energy and money into making their wines relatable to the current climate of Coonawarra, and we’re reaping the rewards in stacks of quality wine. Bravo.

You'd pay $75 full price.

1x School House 'Block C1' Cabernet Sauvignon 2020

Red — Cabernet Sauvignon

Coonawarra — Australia

This wine truly shows the best of what the famed region has to offer, as it walks the tightrope between power and elegance with perfect poise. There are ripe dark fruits of plum and cassis, wrapped up in fine tannins and complimented by notes of toasty oak. It is intense, but also wonderfully balanced. We don’t need to say much about the ageing potential of cabernet with all that structure and tannin, just know that this one is ready to serve you for many (many) years to come.

Frequently Asked Questions

This collection represents the pinnacle of Australian red winemaking, featuring wines that have earned exceptional critical acclaim with scores reaching 97 points from Wine Orbit and 96 points from Halliday Wine Companion. The selection includes prestigious producers like Mitolo and award-winning estates that have received Halliday's Special Value Award and Winemaker of the Year recognition. These aren't just good wines - they're the kind of bottles that serious collectors and sommeliers consider essential, representing the greatest of all time in Australian red wine excellence.

This curated selection showcases the diversity of Australian terroir through a carefully balanced mix of Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon from premium regions. The Barossa Valley Shiraz expressions bring rich, full-bodied power with dark fruit intensity, while the Cabernet Sauvignon selections add structural elegance and cedar complexity. Together, they create a comprehensive tasting journey that demonstrates how different Australian regions express these noble varietals, from the spicy warmth of Shiraz to the refined tannin structure of Cabernet.

Expect a symphony of rich, concentrated flavours that showcase the best of Australian red wine character. The dominant notes include luscious blackberry, blood plum, and blackcurrant, supported by warming spices like allspice and distinctive Australian touches of eucalyptus. Cedar and vanilla from quality oak maturation add complexity, while mocha and meaty umami characters provide depth and sophistication. These wines deliver the bold, fruit-forward style that Australian reds are celebrated for, with enough structure and complexity to reward both immediate enjoyment and cellaring.

With vintages spanning 2020-2022, these wines offer excellent drinking flexibility for different occasions and preferences. The younger vintages like the 2022 releases are beautifully approachable now, showing vibrant fruit expression and balanced tannins perfect for immediate enjoyment. However, given their full-bodied structure and quality oak integration, these wines also have excellent cellaring potential of 8-15 years, during which they'll develop greater complexity and tertiary flavours. This makes the selection ideal for both special occasion drinking and building a serious wine collection.

This selection bridges the gap between specialist collecting and accessible enjoyment by featuring both iconic Barossa producers and diverse regional expressions. Hardcore Barossa collectors will appreciate the inclusion of premium Shiraz from legendary regions, while the mix of varietals and styles ensures broader appeal for those exploring Australian reds. The exceptional critical scores and award recognition validate the quality for serious collectors, yet the approachable full-bodied style and rich fruit flavours make these wines immediately enjoyable for anyone who loves bold, characterful reds.
