Red — Shiraz Blend
Barossa — Australia
The Boss
This wine is like a solid marriage; an equal union of two varieties that independently are celebrated for their beauty, charm and individuality, but together; they offer so much support to one another. One particular MW, or ‘master of wine’ has awarded this marvellous wine 95 points. As we know, every marriage is different: the makers here have respected the old vines of an ancient vineyard, showing the best of the best in one bottle. Dense, rich and brooding chocolate-y mourvèdre (or mataro for those wondering) alongside svelte, slinky and flavourful shiraz, using ridiculously high quality grapes. You can taste the jubilation. We recommend putting a bottle in the cellar for a few years, gifting a bottle (if you’re feeling generous), and opening one now.

2x Farmer's Leap Random Shot Shiraz 2020
Red — Shiraz
Padthaway — Australia
From a little-known corner of South Australia, somewhere along the Riddoch Highway, comes this exceptional value shiraz. It’s absolutely jam-packed with stewed fruit, chocolate and liquorice. Ripe and delicious flavour that packs a real punch is carried on the back of bright acidity, lifting blackberries, bramble, black cherry and prosciutto notes alike to a long and delectable finish. This has to be up there in terms of best value buys. Whether you’re shopping for a pantry-stocking quaffer or something to share with the family over Sunday lunch, this is a great value contender with a foot in both camps.
You’d pay $20 full price.

Like a good book, wine is not all about what’s on the cover. But we have to say, when you’re getting great vino in some super sleek packaging, it’s a big bonus. This is the Barossa classic with a modern edge. Fruit-driven and rich, it hits every corner of your palate with pleasing intensity. The oak-imparted tannins make for a ripper time with some charred meat or veg, perfect for that easy weeknight in.

Shiraz 2022
Frankland River, SA
Five Red Star Halliday Rated Winery | Mofo Fave
This wine is, without doubt, one of the most popular we’ve ever seen at Vinomofo. How popular is popular, you ask? Well, thirsty mofos took over 30,000 bottles of a previous vintage straight out of our hands. Yup. We know it’s a great wine deal but when our mofo members are this unanimous in their desire for this drop; well it’s simply cause for one big shiraz gluggin’ celebration.

Shiraz 2021
McLaren Vale, SA
Vegan | Mofo Fave Producer
Formally presenting: the shiraz you’ve been dreaming of! There’s much to be said about the fantastic team at Lloyd Brothers, from their wine to their olives to their incredibly warm spirit. When they put their name to something, you know it’s going to be all kinds of fabulous. This shiraz was always destined for great things. It’s made with McLaren Vale fruit, so you know it’s already been given a good head start. But then, it gets so much better. Boasting ripe plums and cherries alongside gentle spices. This is supremely balanced, supreme value wine.

Cabernet Shiraz 2018
Wratonbully, SA
Boutique Producer | Women in Wine
This beauty was born out of an indecision of sorts. Making the choice between two fantastic parcels of cabernet and shiraz turned out to be too hard in the end, and so this blend was born. Inky blackberries and mulberry come together in a spicy, voluptuous red that will have you crawling back for more. Warning, this is dangerously enjoyable wine.

GSM 2022
South Australia
Five Red Star Halliday Rated Producer | Vegan
GSM - the ‘Holy Trinity’ of South Aussie reds. It’s the simple, but pleasing harmony of the blend that is nearly better than the sum of its parts. This is a ripe and succulent red that shows off the best of all three varieties. Grenache brings red berries, plums and a bit of warmth. Shiraz adds spice and acid. And then mataro contributes a wonderfully floral nose and its famous inky colour. This is a solid and tasty version of the blend, sure to please fans of the style

Cabernet Sauvignon 2017
Coonawarra, SA
This is classic Coonawarra cabernet coming from a producer who delivers consistent and precise wines year after year. It’s five years old and looking good, showing those deep tertiary flavours of leather and tobacco that round out the bright and fruit forward cabernet intensity. There are dusty red soil notes, herbaceousness, red and dark berries. The palate is firm and supported by acid drive, with layers to explore. It’s not a wine to excite with new flavours, but a wine to remind us what Coonawarra Cabernet can be.

3x Geoff Hardy GMH Shiraz 2019

South Australia — Australia
This producer is a legend in the industry and every drop they release never fails to satisfy – from classic varieties to more experimental blends, there’s always a special touch to these wines. Jam-packed with wild berries, juicy blackcurrants, lush dark chocolate, a splash of mint and a memorable, firm finish - this is an elegant Shiraz that doesn’t ask for your attention, rather it commands it.
