1x Chateau Yaldara 1847 First Pick Shiraz 2020
Red — Shiraz
Barossa Valley — Australia
The Boss
So much has been written about Barossa shiraz, especially at the top end in terms of quality. This one might just sit in pole position, revealing layer after layer of complexity. It's aromatic, hinting at violets, boysenberry, tapenade and potpourri. Then you have a sip...blackberry, cocoa, vanillin, baking spices and a touch of toastiness. The tannins are there of course, but bathed in sweet fruit notes and a creamy texture. This is big, this is bold, this is all that Barossa strives to be.
You’d pay $480 full price.

2x Mitolo Jester Shiraz 2021
Red — Shiraz
McLaren Vale — Australia
Boasting all the dark fleshy plums and blackberries you can poke a stick at, with subtle but lingering black olive and chocolate nuances long after your final gulp. With a lusciously smooth texture and lingering liveliness on the back palate, you're guaranteed quality quaffing through the next few years. There's a reason the jester has long been a favourite drop for mofos around Australia, and the stellar 2021 vintage is no exception.
You’d pay $25 full price.

2x Haselgrove Bella Vigna Shiraz 2020
Red — Shiraz
McLaren Vale — Australia
This producer has to be one of the most consistently excellent wineries in McLaren Vale. Many of their wines get scores in the high-90s year after year and we reckon this wine may have the same fate, so were happy to get in before the reviews. The flavour’s there and the points will come. This one is McLaren Vale to a tee with all the dark, ripe berries, chocolate and spice you could want. It’s full-bodied and absolutely delightful. Trust us, mofo, this stuff is awesome.
You’d pay $30 full price.

2x Reschke Reserve Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon 2020
Red — Cabernet Sauvignon
Coonawarra — Australia
Smooth and rich Coonawarra cab? Say no more. We’re not going to talk to you like you don’t know what to expect, and instead we’re going to tell you why this wine is the next best thing. There’s everything you crave in the style: cocoa, minty, eucalypt mingling with blackcurrants aplenty. What’s that? Oh, in comes a smattering of smokey spice, a dollop of dark jammy fruits, and an emerging earthy tone that sets everything in its place.
You’d pay $55 full price.

1x Pirathon Silver Shiraz 2018
Red — Shiraz
Barossa Valley — Australia
You’ll know this winery the second you get an eye on the bottles, and for good reason. This producer has been at the fore of producing those styles Aussies love from reds out of the valley. The dense fruit profile has been balanced by 18 months in a variety of American, French and Hungarian oak barrels. Dark fruits such as plums and blackberries step forward and there’s plenty of secondary notes such as cedar, pastille and chocolate. If Barossa shiraz is your jam (but not too jammy of course), then you can turn to this number to give you the happiness you seek.
You’d pay $32 full price.

2x Gapsted Limited Release Cabernet Sauvignon 2019
Red — Cabernet Sauvignon
King Valley — Australia
Here we go again with another delicious drop from one of the most consistently consistent producers we work with. Everything in balance and such a nice drink. Fruit in the blackberry and plum spectrum, underlying spice and earthiness, a bit of drying tannin. One of those ‘don’t overthink it’ kinda wines, straight up tasty, enjoyable and ready to roll. Good thing you’ll have another bottle of the same ready to go as you’ll want to come back for more.
You’d pay $31 full price.

2x Schild Estate GSM 2020
Red — GSM
Barossa — Australia
Smooth, sumptuous, and stunningly put together. This is your everything wine, from the weekday to the weekend: this quaffer has you sorted. This leans a little on the meatier side, which will happen when you go a little heavier handed than usual on the mataro in the blend. We're not mad about this one at all; it packs a serious punch, with ripe blackberries, blueberry pie, baking spices and tobacco leaf mingling beautifully in a smoothly textured palate.
You’d pay $30 full price.
