1x Reschke RSR Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

Red — Cabernet Sauvignon

Coonawarra — Australia

We’ve now seen many a ripper vintage of this baby. It’s one deal that flies out the door and into your kitchen. For those in the know, you're never disappointed once you pull the cork. A cellar release with a lucky 8 years of evolution - give it a burl, and you’ll see that it is only starting to touch its prime drinking window. Usually exclusive to the wine producer’s database, this trickles out to us only when we are lucky, somehow our charming wine buyers have managed to get on that lucky list.

Boisterous tannins that have mellowed to a brooding, silky palate, with chunky fruit joined by herbaceous and somewhat meaty notes. There’s still classic cabernet cassis and blackberry, which is accompanied by rosemary, thyme and a long and savoury finish. Be quick, mofo - you too should be so lucky!

You'd pay $75 full price.

1x Corryton Burge Brigadier Cabernet Sauvignon 2019

Red — Cabernet Sauvignon

Barossa — Australia

Blackberry, mocha, mint, fennel, blackcurrant leaf, cedar, cigar box, red currant, coffee, burnt sugar - there's a lot going on here. Brilliant cabernet. The richness of the palate drives the wine, but the fruit is wrapped up tightly in the brightness of the acid. A balanced and persistent finish completes the wine. This is seriously complex and seriously good.

You'd pay $55 full price.

1x Jim Brand Wines The Pursuit Cabernet Sauvignon 2020

Red — Cabernet Sauvignon

Coonawarra — Australia

An extroverted red which refuses to back down, this wine is fragrant with dark forest fruits seducing the nose, while traces of mint and cedar oak add a twist of regional character. A torrent of ripe plum, dark berry and blackcurrant make their presence known on the palate; clearly dominating but steering clear of overwhelming the tastebuds. The finish is superb with great length and a dry finale. An outstanding example of how to balance power with restraint, and succeed - this magnificent cab shows others how it’s done.

You'd pay $50 full price.

1x St Johns Brook Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2019

Red — Cabernet Sauvignon

Margaret River — Australia

This is premium cabernet that's playing all the hits; cassis, black cherry, bramble, pink and purple flowers and a medicinal quality to boot. The fruit is dense and driving and sitting smack dab in the centre of the wine. Those fruit characteristics are wrapped neatly in cedar and tree bark notes. Uber stylish, eternally elegant - St Johns Brook know how to do premo cab sauv, and we're hoping we see a lot more of their wines coming through our doors (because we've very nearly drunk them all to ourselves).

You'd pay $60 full price.

1x Carillion Stonefields Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

Red — Cabernet Sauvignon

Wrattonbully — Australia

Wrattonbully brings the goods when it comes to cabernet. It’s that red clay and loam soil that’s the key. We’ve got our hands on a single vineyard example that’s been given heaps of love by the legends at Carillion. Despite its medium body, it’s quite ripe with flavours of cassis and blackberry. Low cropping levels and small berries have led to great concentration and some time in French oak has given the wine a nice spicy backbone and fine tannins.

You'd pay $50 full price.

1x Penley Estate Black Bull Cabernet Sauvignon 2021

Red — Cabernet Sauvignon

Coonawarra — Australia

Guess who’s back and ready to go? One of our favourite Coonawarra producers, Penley Estate, has done the hard work to bring back this mofo fave drop. Aptly named, this robust cabernet packs a punch with strong, flavourful and classic Coonawarra characteristics we’ve all come to love and enjoy. Dark fruits of the black forest abound and surround the recogniseable cedary, minty core; while framed with superb mineral tannins that allow for youthful drinking while still earning a nook in your cellar over the next 10+ years.

You'd pay $50 full price.

Frequently Asked Questions

This curated pack showcases Cabernet Sauvignon's remarkable versatility across different Australian regions and vintages from 2015-2021. Each wine represents a unique terroir expression and winemaking philosophy, from the structured elegance of cooler climate styles to the bold intensity of warmer regions. The selection includes award-winning producers with scores reaching 96 points, offering an educational journey through Australia's premier Cabernet regions. It's like having a masterclass in Australian Cabernet without the guesswork of choosing individual bottles.

The vintage range from 2015-2021 provides fascinating insights into how Cabernet Sauvignon evolves with age and responds to different seasonal conditions. The 2015 Reschke offers mature complexity with developed tertiary flavours, while the 2021 Penley Estate showcases youthful fruit intensity and primary varietal character. This span allows you to compare how the same grape variety expresses differently across various Australian growing seasons, from cooler years that produce more elegant wines to warmer vintages that deliver concentrated power.

The diverse flavour profiles in this selection - from cedar and leather to dark chocolate and blackberry - make it exceptionally food-friendly across multiple occasions. The more structured wines pair beautifully with red meat dishes like lamb rack or aged beef, while the fruit-forward styles complement rich pasta dishes and mature cheeses. The allspice and redcurrant notes in some bottles work wonderfully with game meats or even dark chocolate desserts, making this pack perfect for progressive dinner parties or seasonal menu planning.

Most wines in this selection are drinking beautifully now, having reached optimal maturity windows that showcase both primary fruit and developed complexity. The older vintages like the 2015 and 2018 bottles are at their peak drinking period, offering the perfect balance of fruit and tertiary development. However, the younger 2020-2021 wines have excellent cellaring potential and will continue to evolve gracefully for another 5-8 years, developing more nuanced leather and cedar characteristics that Cabernet Sauvignon is renowned for.

While Cabernet Sauvignon originated in Bordeaux, these Australian expressions showcase the grape's remarkable adaptability to diverse terroirs and climates. Australian Cabernets typically display more upfront fruit intensity and riper tannin structure compared to their French counterparts, reflecting our warmer growing conditions and different winemaking philosophies. The wines in this pack demonstrate distinctly Australian characteristics - generous blackberry and plum flavours balanced by eucalyptus and cedar notes - while maintaining the noble structure and ageing potential that made Bordeaux famous.
