Why do we love this case?
When it comes to Shiraz, we don't do things by halves. We've rounded up a seriously impressive collection of Aussie heavy hitters, bringing together the richness, power and personality that make this variety an absolute favourite.
Expect generous dark fruit, warming spice, smooth tannins and plenty of full-bodied goodness. From familiar favourites to premium standouts, there's something to love in every bottle. And with two of each wine included, you'll have plenty to enjoy now and a few favourites to come back to later.
Big flavour, serious value and a wine rack that's about to look a whole lot better. Now that's a lineup worth getting behind, Mofo.
2x Craneford Basket Pressed Shiraz 2024
Red — Shiraz
Barossa — Australia
Craneford produce spectacular wines. There's no denying that. This is quintessential Barossa Shiraz - a whole lot of Barossa legends are involved with this wonderfully expressive drop right the way from vine to bottle and the experience shows. Beautifully done. This wine is a stunning showcase of Barossa Shiraz, crafted for pure enjoyment. The fruit is carefully sourced from highly-regarded Barossa vineyards, thanks to the winemakers' deep connections with growers of exceptional quality. That remarkable fruit delivers the wine’s purity, power, and drive. In the hands of seasoned winemakers - this lot have made more Shiraz than we've had hot dinners - this bold yet fruit-forward masterpiece comes to life. We're not just enjoying this wine, we're bloody loving it!

2x Hardy's HRB Shiraz 2020
Red — Shiraz
Australia — Australia
When you’ve been making wine in Australia since the 1800s, you tend to know a thing or two about shiraz. Hardys built their name on bold thinking and even bolder drinking reds, and this bottle is a cracking reminder of why they’re still a household name all these years later. Oh, and the price will genuinely knock your socks off! It’s shiraz through and through, that's undeniable. Completely opaque in the glass, it opens with a rush of mulberry, blueberry and ripe plum, with a dusting of spice and a little milk-chocolate richness swirling around behind it. There’s a hint of white pepper for good measure, just to keep things lively. The palate follows the same script but really takes things up a gear. Tannins are silky but present, giving it proper structure without turning it into a chew-fest. A touch of French oak rounds things out and stretches the finish nicely. But that's not the best bit... For a wine with this kind of pedigree and punch, the price is borderline ridiculous. It tastes exactly like good shiraz should - generous fruit, savoury detail, tidy structure - and it’ll happily cellar for five to ten years if you’ve got the patience.

2x d'Arenberg The Wild Pixie Shiraz 2019
Red — Shiraz
McLaren Vale — Australia
A tried and true Mofo fav. We love this wine for many reasons, but most of all it’s the way it jumps out of the glass. A potent elixir of vibrant red cherries and blue plums. A swirl of raspberry and liquorice. Dusky, earthy savouriness and piney cedar wood chime in late and usher the fruit along. Its one of those wines you’re reluctant to drink because there is so much joy to be had in just smelling it. On the palate herbaceous black currant leaf and herbal tea flank what is a powerful fruit core. Dark berry compote and quince dominate. Fresh and bright acidity (aided, in part, by the splash of roussanne that’s added to the ferment) gather and drive the fruit density through a long, lasting finish. As far as the Wild Pixie is concerned, this is the best incarnation yet.

2x Schild Estate Shiraz 2022
Red — Shiraz
Barossa — Australia
We love our bread, we love our butter. But most of all, we love an estate Shiraz from a Barossa icon winery. This is classic Barossa Shiraz, absolutely delicious. This is spot-on for this producer, brimming with chocolate and boysenberry richness, coupled with plenty of black pepper and clove spice. This is shiraz, stripped back, unfussy, pure and simple. What a delight.

2x Mitolo Wines Jester Black Shiraz 2021
Red — Shiraz
McLaren Vale — Australia
Boasting all the dark fleshy plums and blackberries you can poke a stick at, with subtle but lingering black olive and chocolate nuances. A prized producer and a prized shiraz. This one's got 'long-lunch' written all over it... and a bit of 'dancing on the table with a bottle in your hand after a long-lunch' about it too, if we're honest. These are the wines we love. This is the answer to all of your midweek quaffer conundrums. This is one iconic McLaren Vale producer, known for incredible red wines that speak to their Italian heritage. Texturally, this is smoother than Barry White and a lingering liveliness on the back palate ensures pleasurable quaffing from now right through the next few years. It’s an easy-going medium-bodied drop with surprising balance, depth of flavour and length.

2x Redman Shiraz 2023
Red — Shiraz
Coonawarra — Australia
This lot helped put Coonawarra on the map. And they did it with this wine. These world-famous icons have been making Shiraz out of Coonawarra for over a century, no wonder they've got it down to a fine art. Dark, deep, rich and concentrated with a youthful brightness and supporting structure. This is a really good Shiraz. Dense, dark and full of choc-blackberry character, with toasty spice and a lick of oak. The palate brings juicy red plum and liquorice supported by underlying cedar, earth and pepper, with fine, youthful tannins keeping everything fresh and energetic. A hundred years of practice on full display. This is Coonawarra Shiraz with clear intent. Overdelivers at every turn.
