Why do we love this case?
This is Schild Estate with the volume turned up. The Schild Estate Showcase brings together a premium lineup that highlights the full spectrum of Barossa Shiraz - from old vine character to flagship intensity.
Leading the charge is the powerful Three Springs Shiraz, supported by the depth and elegance of Ben Schild Cellar Reserve and Prämie, alongside the richness of Angus Brae and classic Old Vine Shiraz. The addition of a vibrant GSM rounds out the case, adding a fresh, approachable counterpoint to the heavier hitters.
With RRPs stacking deep into premium territory, this is a rare chance to explore one producer’s range at its best — bold, structured, and unmistakably Barossa.

This particular vineyard, in the Rowland Flat area of the Barossa, sits at 380m above sea-level. At this altitude, Barossa vineyards traditionally produce much lower yields creating highly concentrated fruit of exceptional quality. From the first whiff it's quite apparent, this is a really smart wine. A perfumed nose of the expected dark fruits with floral elements of rose petal and violets. On the palate, juicy plums, dark chocolate, pepper, spice and, of course, a long, smooth, oak-driven finish. This drop is as intense as it is complex and will continue to impress for many years to come. Very, very impressive.

1x Schild Estate Ben Schild Cellar Reserve Shiraz 2017
Red — Shiraz
Barossa — Australia
A tribute to the man who started the family's winemaking journey, this single vineyard Barossa Shiraz carries that weight with extraordinary grace. Hand-sorted fruit from one carefully chosen block, open fermented, then 18 months in a combination of French, American and Hungarian oak - followed by another two years of bottle maturation under optimal conditions before it was deemed ready to face the world. That kind of patience shows up in every sip. In the glass it's inky and dramatic - blackberry, liquorice and dark cherry leading the charge, with black olive, cedar, scorched earth and cracked pepper lurking underneath. The palate is full-bodied, plush and genuinely voluminous, with velvet tannins that somehow manage to be both structured and completely seamless. The finish is long, opulent and deeply satisfying. This is Barossa Shiraz made with intent, history and know-how. You can taste all three.

1x Schild Estate Prämie Shiraz 2021
Red — Shiraz
Barossa — Australia
Plush blackberries lead the initial swell of fruit on the palate, but then there is much more to discover. Raspberries, black cherries, nettle, espresso, toffee, bramble, cassis and chocolatey, vanillin oak... a certifiable explosion of complex flavour. The wine is structurally perfect, with tannins that build up the gums and toward the lasting finish. The fruit is along for the ride the whole way, persisting through the finish to finally punctuate the wine with moreish juicy berry generosity. A wine that practically begs you to lift the glass to your mouth and take another sip, and who am I to deny it?

1x Schild Estate Angus Brae Shiraz 2022
Red — Shiraz
Barossa — Australia
The best of both worlds. All the big, bold, brash Barossa that you're used to, but with a point of difference. Elegance. A smooth, slippery, silky, shiraz that absolutely still packs a punch. Reminiscent of Hewitson's premium wines.
From a steep hillside vineyard, about 5kms north of the Lyndoch township, this full-bodied shiraz displays intricate and complex layers of black pepper, spice, dark chocolate and ripe blackberries and plums. The smoky cedar notes of the oak and super-fine grained tannins bring a touch of class to your glass and set up a long, velvety finish. Although already very elegantly well-integrated, the bright acidity, presence of the oak and slightly chalky tannin structure set this wine up for a long life in the cellar of anyone who's got the patience.

1x Schild Estate GSM 2021
Red — GSM
Barossa — Australia
Sure, you might know Barossa shiraz, but the next best thing absolutely has to be the GSM blends from this mighty region. This one leans a little on the meatier side, which will happen when you go a little heavier handed than usual on the mataro in the blend. We're not mad about this one at all; it packs a serious punch, with ripe blackberries, blueberry pie, baking spices and tobacco leaf mingling beautifully in a smoothly textured palate.
