Well, mofo, see, we love Matahiwi. They make great wines that rival the very best of NZ. We’d even pack some bottles for a holiday to Fiji. No doubt about it; these folks know how to please. A cracking example of Kiwi savvy b, and a perfect pairing to seafood. It’s punchy and fruity; the flavour is as clear as day. Passionfruit, sugar peas, and a citrus freshness. This is so much fun in a glass - and a savvy b on a hot summer’s day? It’s about all you need.

Excellent sauv blanc is being produced in the King Valley. Who knew? Well, Twin Valleys did. It makes sense that an area with bright, crisp pinot grigio can do the same with savvy b. This one is all tropical fruit and gooseberries, backed by a softer acidity. In layperson’s terms, that means it makes for some easy drinking. So let Twin Valleys do all the hard work in growing the grapes and making the wine. Then, you relax and pour yourself a glass (or two).

From up in the hills of Orange in NSW comes some real unsung gems. in fact, some of Australia’s best white wines come from up north - but it’s all about the elevation. We might dread that temperature drop in the fall of the night, but vines do their best work in the conditions of hot days and nippy nights. Here, you get the intensity and ripeness in the berries leading to classic tropical gooseberry and guava, but with the added freshness of cirtus acidity. Could this be your new favourite savvy b? You’ll just have to taste and see.

The Adelaide Hills is the ideal place to grow sauvignon blanc, with high slopes and cool nights. Pair that with a producer who REALLY know what they’re doing (we’re talking a Five Red Star rating from Halliday) and you can’t go wrong. This sauv is clean, light and lively, with all of the gooseberry, floral life and citrus tingles that make the style famous. A refreshing vino typical of Adelaide Hills.

Savvy b is as much an Aussie icon as the Opera House, the Harbour Bridge, or the Big Banana. Tropical passionfruit, tart grapefruit, and bursting with ripe lemon citrus - this sb is the perfect accomplice as you work the BBQ or divvy up the cheese board on the back patio. Refreshing and crisp, light and bright - for the sauvignon blanc fans out there, this will tick all the boxes and then some.
