2x Patritti Wines Amico Grenache Rosé 2024

Rosé

McLaren Vale — Australia

100% grenache rosé. 100% delicious. That's our two big takeaways from Patritti's 'Amico' rosé, which is designed to be enjoyed just as the name suggests: jovially and with good friends. Raspberry coulis, white strawberry, thyme and a hint of creamy complexity all abound in this delicious drop. Patritti are no strangers to good wine. In fact, we can't recall a time that they missed the mark with anything coming out of their storied winery. This grenache based rosé comes off a single estate vineyard in McLaren Vale (which was planted back in the mid 20th century!)

You'd pay $28 full price.

2x Chateau La Borie Rosé 2023

Rosé

France — France

Crafted from 60% cinsault & 40% grenache, this is about as classic in style as French rosé gets. Pale pink, the nose gives lilac, white apricot and strawberries, and gives them generously. A nice lick of berries on the palate with a citrusy, dry finish and a subtly complex mouthfeel. If you want to sip and savour this one, you'll be richly rewarded but all we'll say is good luck. This one goes down very very easily.

You'd pay $35 full price.

Frequently Asked Questions

This mixed lineup spans the entire rosé spectrum from light, fruity styles perfect for casual sipping to more structured, chalky-dry expressions that pair beautifully with food. The variety means you can match the wine to your mood - whether you want something refreshing by the pool or a more serious rosé for dinner. With wines from different producers and regions, you're getting a masterclass in how terroir and winemaking techniques influence rosé character.

Rosé is best served well-chilled at 8-10°C to showcase its fresh acidity and delicate fruit flavours. Store the bottles in a cool, dark place and chill for at least 2-3 hours before serving. The light-bodied nature of these wines means they're particularly sensitive to temperature - too warm and they'll taste flabby, but properly chilled they'll sing with vibrant fruit and crisp minerality.

The diverse flavour profile spanning citrus, strawberry, and savoury notes makes this collection incredibly food-friendly. The fruitier styles complement seafood, salads, and soft cheeses, while the more structured, chalky-dry wines can handle grilled meats, Mediterranean dishes, and even spicy Asian cuisine. The key is matching the wine's intensity to your dish - lighter rosés for delicate flavours, more robust ones for heartier fare.

Sourcing from multiple producers and regions demonstrates how different climates, soils, and winemaking philosophies create distinct rosé styles. This approach gives you exposure to various techniques - from direct pressing for pale, delicate wines to longer skin contact for deeper colour and structure. It's like having a comparative tasting flight that showcases the versatility of rosé as a wine category rather than limiting yourself to one producer's interpretation.

The impressive scores including 95 points from Winestate Magazine and multiple gold medals indicate these aren't simple quaffing wines but serious expressions of rosé craftsmanship. High-rated rosés typically demonstrate excellent balance between fruit intensity and acidity, clean winemaking, and distinctive regional character. These accolades suggest the collection represents exceptional value, as premium rosé can often punch above its weight class compared to reds and whites at similar price points.
