2x Reschke R-Series Riesling 2023

White — Riesling

Limestone Coast — Australia

Young, bright, and fresh as a daisy. This rizza is full of blossoms and citrus, a nervy line of acid and beautiful texture. Reschke are known for their long-lived red wines, and that applies just as much to their pristinely crafted whites. I mean, you don't get a 96pt score for nothing. Whether you drink this beauty now or hold it for a couple of years, it's a pleaser for sure.

2x Claymore God is a DJ Riesling 2023

White — Riesling

Clare Valley — Australia

When it comes to the legendary producer Claymore, I always think - come for the reds, and stay for the riesling. They have a few rieslings in their collection, all excellent examples of what Clare Valley does best. This beauty is all about the floral, sherbet-y nose with a few funky notes too. It follows with a dry and textural palate that is pithy and citric - vibrant and classic. It has a super-dry finish and my notes say “it’s pretty bloody delicious”.

You'd pay $22 full price.

Frequently Asked Questions

This curated lineup brings together six exceptional rieslings from different producers and regions, creating a comprehensive tasting journey that showcases the variety's remarkable versatility. Rather than guessing which riesling to try next, you're getting a professionally selected range that spans different terroirs and winemaking styles, from the mineral-driven Polish Hill River to contemporary interpretations like 'God is a DJ'. It's essentially a masterclass in Australian riesling that would take months to assemble individually.

The collection features wines scoring between 94-96 points from respected critics like James Suckling, Halliday Wine Companion, and Tyson Stelzer, indicating exceptional quality across the board. These high scores reflect riesling's current renaissance in Australia, where producers are mastering the balance between the variety's natural acidity and expressive fruit character. The International Cool Climate Wine Show recognition particularly highlights how these wines showcase terroir-driven minerality and precision that rivals the world's best riesling regions.

You'll experience riesling's incredible flavour spectrum, from zesty lime and lemon citrus notes to more complex slate minerality and delicate jasmine florals. The collection spans herbaceous, apple-driven styles alongside pear and mineral expressions, demonstrating how different Australian regions and vintages influence the grape's character. This diversity means you can explore everything from bone-dry, food-friendly styles to those with subtle fruit sweetness, all while maintaining riesling's signature crisp acidity.

While these 2022-2023 vintage rieslings are absolutely delicious now, showcasing vibrant primary fruit and floral characteristics, they're also built for medium-term cellaring. Riesling is renowned for developing complex honeyed, petrol, and toast notes over 5-10 years, transforming from youthful citrus brightness to sophisticated maturity. The light-bodied nature and natural acidity of these wines means they'll evolve beautifully, so you could enjoy some now and cellar others to experience riesling's remarkable aging potential.

Serve these rieslings well-chilled at 8-10°C to highlight their crisp acidity and delicate aromatics - the minerally, slate-driven examples particularly benefit from proper temperature control. The collection's diverse flavour profiles make them incredibly food-versatile: the citrus-forward styles excel with fresh seafood and Asian cuisine, while the more herbaceous examples complement goat cheese and herb-crusted dishes. Consider tasting them in sequence from lightest to most complex to fully appreciate each wine's unique terroir expression.
