2x Reschke R-Series Riesling 2023

White — Riesling

Limestone Coast — Australia

Young, bright, and fresh as a daisy. This rizza is full of blossoms and citrus, a nervy line of acid and beautiful texture. Reschke are known for their long-lived red wines, and that applies just as much to their pristinely crafted whites. I mean, you don't get a 96pt score for nothing. Whether you drink this beauty now or hold it for a couple of years, it's a pleaser for sure.

You'd pay $20 full price.

2x Koonowla Riesling 2023

White — Riesling

Clare Valley — Australia

Classically Clare. Green apple and pear at the fore, wrapped in bristling, exciting acidity. The wine is so fresh and expressive. The citrus notes give way to vibrant wet stone minerality. There is a bit of juicy, pity palate weight, which speaks to an emerging riesling style which is more generous and less austere. A remarkably pure expression of fruit; Clare Valley riesling is consistently amongst the greatest white wines produced in Australia, and this wine typifies why.

You'd pay $30 full price.

2x Penna Lane Three Valleys Riesling 2023

White — Riesling

Clare Valley — Australia

If you’re a lover of rizza, but have ever been put off by the thought of it taking the roof of your mouth off, this one is your jam. It’s a slightly riper style: less of the laser beam acid and more ripe fruit fun. It smells and tastes like a riz, with all that complexity and aromatic charm, while being deliciously easy drinking. There’s lime and sherbet, as standard, then hints of apricot, apple juice, and yellow apple. A great wine to have on hand for any occasion.

You'd pay $28 full price.

2x Claymore God is a DJ Riesling 2023

White — Riesling

Clare Valley — Australia

When it comes to the legendary producer Claymore, I always think - come for the reds, and stay for the riesling. They have a few rieslings in their collection, all excellent examples of what Clare Valley does best. This beauty is all about the floral, sherbet-y nose with a few funky notes too. It follows with a dry and textural palate that is pithy and citric - vibrant and classic. It has a super-dry finish and my notes say “it’s pretty bloody delicious”.

You'd pay $22 full price.

Frequently Asked Questions

This curated lineup brings together six exceptional rieslings from different producers and vintages, creating a masterclass in Australia's riesling diversity. Rather than guessing which bottles to try, you're getting a thoughtfully assembled selection that showcases how terroir, winemaking style, and vintage variation influence this noble grape. It's like having a sommelier choose the perfect progression for your palate education, with each bottle offering a different perspective on riesling's remarkable versatility.

The vintage variation from 2020 to 2023 is intentional and educational, demonstrating how riesling evolves with age and responds to different growing seasons. The 2020 Eden Hall shows how riesling develops honeyed complexity and deeper mineral notes with a few years of bottle age, while the 2023 releases capture the grape's youthful vibrancy with bright acidity and primary fruit flavours. This range lets you taste the same varietal at different life stages, understanding why riesling is considered one of the world's most age-worthy white wines.

These floral aromatics are hallmarks of quality riesling, developing through the grape's unique terpene compounds that create its distinctive perfume. The jasmine and orange blossom notes typically emerge from cool-climate growing conditions and careful winemaking that preserves the grape's delicate aromatic precursors. As riesling ages, these floral elements integrate with the citrus and mineral components, creating layers of complexity that make each sip reveal new nuances - it's why riesling enthusiasts often describe the wine as 'transparent' to its terroir.

The light-bodied nature and bright acidity of these rieslings make them incredibly food-friendly, particularly excelling with Asian cuisines where the wine's natural sweetness balance can tame spice while the acidity cuts through rich sauces. The citrus and mineral notes complement fresh seafood beautifully, while the floral elements enhance dishes with herbs and aromatic spices. These wines also shine with cheese platters, particularly soft goat's cheese or aged hard cheeses, where the wine's acidity provides a palate-cleansing contrast.

While the specific sweetness levels aren't detailed, the tasting notes of citrus, lime, and green apple suggest these are predominantly dry to off-dry styles that showcase riesling's natural acidity and mineral expression. Australian rieslings have evolved toward drier styles over recent decades, focusing on showcasing terroir rather than residual sugar, though many retain a touch of sweetness that provides balance without being cloying. The 'mixed' style designation indicates you'll experience the full spectrum of what modern Australian riesling offers, from bone-dry mineral expressions to those with subtle fruit sweetness.
