Why do we love this case?

Drinking Riesling is like having a deep and meaningful conversation with an erudite friend; it’s expressive, complex and makes you think. Plus you’re doing one of those things that enriches your future self. So we’ve gathered some golden grape goodness from our current favourite Riesling academies to get your mind and palate ticking. Let’s make sense of the world one sip of Riesling at a time.

Each case contains TWO bottles of the following:

Included in this case:

2x Kirrihill Gleeson & Co. Riesling 2021

White — Riesling

Clare Valley — Australia

This snappy rizza has been taking us wine-o’s by storm. It’s from Clare Valley and is classic Clare - light, dry and delicious. The nose is floral and citric and the palate delivers that same bright citrus with lime cordial and grapefruit pith. You can just imagine how this wine would sing with South East Asian cuisine, packed with fresh herbs and tamarind. Brimming with fresh acidity, this wine is great drinking now and way into the future.

You’d pay $30 full price.

2x Kilikanoon Golden Hillside Riesling 2021

White — Riesling

Clare Valley — Australia

Another year and another glorious vintage of one or our absolute favourites. We are still wondering if this “Golden Hillside” is an actual place, or a mythical place of the gods. The riesling from the Hillside is nothing short of heavenly, and the price suggests some sort of divine intervention. Plus, however high the vineyards of Clare Valley can get, surely those planted on celestial slopes are more so. How else would you get such an otherworldly balance of drool-worthy lime and sunshine-soaked lemons, refreshing minerality and cloudlike complexity? The bottle definitely says Clare Valley though.

You’d pay $45 full price.

2x Penna Lane Three Valleys Riesling 2022

White — Riesling

Clare Valley — Australia

Welcome back another stellar vintage of Penna Lane riesling. It’s a slightly riper style: less of the laser beam acid and more ripe fruit fun. It smells and tastes like a riz, with all that complexity and aromatic charm, while being deliciously easy drinking. There’s lime and sherbet, as standard, then hints of apricot, apple juice, and yellow apple. It’s amazing value and a perfect wine to have on hand for any occasion.

You’d pay $28 full price.

2x Gaelic Cemetery Vineyard Celtic Farm Riesling 2022

White — Riesling

Clare Valley — Australia

Say hello to one of the best examples of modern Clare Valley riesling! It is cellar-worthy to the extreme and sublimely well-made. There’s tangy citrus, searing riesling acidity, and the drive you’d expect from a great Clare riz. You might find lavender, perhaps chalk, maybe jasmine, either way, there’s a pinch of magic in this bottle, that makes the hairs stand up on the back of your neck. Scintillating, shimmering and seductive, it’s the best of what great wine can be.

You’d pay $28 full price.

2x Claymore God is a DJ Riesling 2022

White — Riesling

Clare Valley — Australia

We’d like to welcome another vintage of one of our Clare Valley favourites. When it comes to the legendary producer Claymore, I always think - come for the reds, and stay for the riesling. They have a few rieslings in their collection, all excellent examples of what Clare Valley does best. God is a DJ is their weeknight rizza and it gets more serious as you move up the range. It’s floral and sherberty on the nose with a few funky notes too. It follows with a dry and textural palate that is pithy and citric - vibrant and classic. It has a super-dry finish and my notes say “it’s pretty bloody delicious”.

You’d pay $24 full price.

2x Whites Road 517 Riesling 2018

White — Riesling

Clare Valley — Australia

Even if you don’t know that you know Clare rieslings, we’re gonna take a bet that you’ve drank one or two (or hundreds) in your life. It’s the little things that count- and if we’re talking scale, Clare riesling is certainly one of them. So, when you find anyone who has held onto theirs for a few years, it’s a pretty magnificent experience to taste: lime cordial turns to lemon curd, a glimmer of tropical fruits shines through and the acidity suddenly seems to make perfect sense. This may be a cracker of a price, but in reality wines like this are truly priceless.

You’d pay $19 full price.
