1x Arila Gardens Gardens of Moppa Shiraz 2022
Red — Shiraz
Barossa — Australia
Beyond the hype and the high praise (95 Sam Kim, 94 Ken Gargett, 4.1 Vivino), this is a wine that makes good on all of its promises. Blue and black fruited, big, powerful, inky, structural and generous with lashings of chocolate and coffee giving balance to profound oak. We've been trying to get our hands on this wine for a while now, and we've finally done it. So kick back, pour yourself a glass, and celebrate with us Mofo. We've earned it.

1x Quin Wines Pyrenees Nebbiolo 2021
Red — Nebbiolo
Pyrenees — Australia
Planted in 2000 on a north-facing slope in Victoria’s Pyrenees, the Malakoff vineyard sits 350m above sea level on red, permeable clay. Warm days and cool nights build intense aromatics, fine tannin structure and natural acidity - the hallmarks of world-class Nebbiolo. Hand-harvested, the fruit made its way to the winery as whole bunches. Half was de-stemmed, the rest tipped straight into the fermenter intact. Gentle pump-overs and plunging carried through six weeks on skins, building savoury complexity and those trademark, long Nebbiolo tannins. Basket-pressed, settled overnight and matured in seasoned French oak for 14 months, the wine is all lifted florals, sour cherry, wild herb and fine, powdery grip. This is Australian Nebbiolo at its most authentic and age-worthy. Oh, and only 150 cases were ever made... better get a wriggle on!
You’d pay $55 full price.

1x Merite Malbec 2022
Red — Malbec
Wrattonbully — Australia
This is a really big deal - 95 points from Halliday Wine Companion for an Australian Malbec is extraordinary - although not unexpected. Boysenberry, wild raspberry and prune plums reveal themselves slowly, backed by cardamom and dark chocolate spice. Deceptive in its exotic persona but built with serious structure to go the distance. Halliday describes it perfectly: "You need to peer into the depth of this wine to slowly unveil it." A swift decant helps reveal the complexity hiding within. Boysenberry, wild raspberry and prune plums provide the fruit foundation, while a plethora of spice adds intrigue. There's a snap of dark chocolate weaving through violet aromatics with mahogany, leather and cigar box nuances. A second sip will reveal even more layers: wild raspberry, red cherry and blackcurrant backed by hibiscus florals, minerality, and earthy complexity. The palate delivers perky acidity and dusty, well-integrated tannins with a sappy, raspberry lolly character that keeps drawing you back. In short: we're obsessed.

1x Tscharke Wines The Master Montepulciano 2021
Red — Montepulciano
Barossa — Australia
This is one of those reds that grabs your attention from the first swirl of the glass. Deep, dark and purple-hued in the glass, it’s a heady mix of morello cherry, liquorice, and earthy spice on the nose, with hints of dried herbs and leather adding depth. The palate is lively and juicy - just what you'd expect - dark cherry and red liquorice up front, then a savoury undercurrent of blueberry, spice and a little leather rolling through. Bright acidity keeps it fresh, while fine-grained yet sturdy tannins give it backbone and a long, structured finish. It’s energetic, it’s savoury, and it’s got that perfect balance between fruit generosity and serious structure. Pair it with slow-cooked lamb, roasted veg, or anything that deserves a bold, characterful red. We challenge you to dislike this wine... it's impossible.
You’d pay $28 full price.

1x Whistler Wines Divergent GSM 2023
Red — GSM
Barossa — Australia
Shiraz. Grenache. Mataro. Three grapes, one delicious purpose - happiness.
This red blend is designed to be juicy, easily-enjoyed and way more impressive than the price tag suggests. This one is just as comfortable in a paper cup at the park as it is in a Riedel decanter at a fancy restaurant! Shiraz brings the depth with plush blue fruits. Grenache ups the fun with a hit of bright red berries. Mataro anchors it all with a bit of grip and earthiness. All in all we've ended up with an utterly complete wine. One with gorgeous fruit flavours and notably vibrant versatility. Throw it next to anything barbecued and you’ll be cheering. Better yet, give it a light chill on a warm day and you’ve found yourself a completely new drink! Effortlessly drinkable, seriously satisfying and insanely populer - this is your new go-to red for any (and every) occasion.
You’d pay $28 full price.

1x Jericho Adelaide Hills Tempranillo 2023
Red — Tempranillo
McLaren Vale — Australia
Strawberries, pomegranate and black cherry with a little tobacco spice. Smooth, supple and impossible to stop sipping. Kept sleek and fruit-driven with just a touch of French oak, this is all about drinkability. No heavy tannin, no big oak cloak - just pure, vibrant fruit and a smooth glide. Grown on old vines near Kersbrook, the concentration is there, but the style stays wonderfully fresh. Food-wise? Think BBQ. Charred lamb chops, smoky chorizo or even just grilled veggies - this wine is built to hang out by the fire and disappear fast.
You’d pay $27 full price.
