1x Ben Murray Wines Estate Mataro 2023

Red — Mataro

Barossa — Australia

This is Barossa mataro with serious presence. Dark, savoury and built with purpose, it comes from one of the best Barossa sites and a producer we keep backing because they just don’t stop making fantastic wines. If you know Barossa, you know mataro thrives here - and this is a cracking example. Depth, power and concentration without tipping into brute force. This one's all about dark berry fruit, savoury spice and earthy grit, with that unmistakable Barossa confidence running through the middle.

You'd pay $50 full price.

1x Big Easy Radio Pinball Wizard Zinfandel 2024

Red — Zinfandel

McLaren Vale — Australia

Zinfandel's got a fearsome reputation - full-bodied, a bold nose, powerful - but really, it's a softie once you get to know it. Jammy berry compote and primary fruit lead the way, with liquorice, vanillan oak and a touch of smoke on the palate, backed by moderate tannin. This is a wonderful Zinf. Single-vineyard fruit from coastal Aldinga, cool-fermented and rested a year in seasoned French oak. Cranberries and spice on the nose, a proper flavour explosion in the glass. Easy enough for any old afternoon, memorable enough for something special. Big yes from us.

You'd pay $40 full price.

1x Thousand Candles Gathering Field Cabernet Franc 2023

Red — Cabernet Franc

Yarra Valley — Australia

Cabernet franc is many things to many people. One of the most versatile grapes on the planet, this one comes in with a beautifully perfumed nose, fantastically energetic palate and seemingly endless depth of flavour. If you enjoy cab sauv, grenache, merlot... honestly, just get this in your glass. This one sees a good hit of whole bunch (around 30%) and a long, gentle soak on skins, which gives it that lifted perfume and subtle structure without turning it into a tannin bomb. Matured in seasoned French oak for several months and bottled without fuss, it’s all about purity and drinkability. Aromas lean toward red cherry, blackberry and a little juniper spice, with dried herbs and a faint floral note drifting through. There’s a cool-climate freshness that makes it feel alive from the first swirl. The palate sits in that beautiful medium-bodied zone - juicy red fruits up front, a hint of pink peppercorn and bay leaf, and a fine, chalky grip that keeps everything tidy. It’s balanced, energetic and dangerously easy to pour another glass.

1x Athletes of Wine Sangiovese Blend 2023

Red — Sangiovese

King Valley — Australia

Meet your new go-to everyday red - easy to drink, easy to love. If you're growing Sangiovese in Australia, the King Valley's the only real answer - Italian families, Italian grapes, checks out. Here's an Aussie take on Super Tuscan with genuine credentials behind it. Sangiovese leads, backed by Cabernet for structure and layered blackberry and tobacco, Merlot for mulberry and polish. Bright purple, juicy, medium-bodied, with sour cherry on the nose, bright acidity throughout and fine tannin on the finish. Treat it like the Italians would - a slight chill if you want, any glass you've got, good food, better company. Easy drinking, great value, any occasion covered.

You'd pay $35 full price.

1x Tscharke Wines The Master Montepulciano 2020

Red — Montepulciano

Barossa — Australia

From the first-ever montepulciano vineyard planted in Australia - this one proves that the original is always the best. This is the real deal, the good stuff. We're pretty comfortable saying that this is the best montepulciano in the country, and the price is downright NUTS! This is one of those reds that grabs your attention from the first swirl of the glass. Deep, dark and purple-hued in the glass, it’s a heady mix of morello cherry, liquorice, and earthy spice on the nose, with hints of dried herbs and leather adding depth. The palate is lively and juicy - just what you'd expect - dark cherry and red liquorice up front, then a savoury undercurrent of blueberry, spice and a little leather rolling through. Bright acidity keeps it fresh, while fine-grained yet sturdy tannins give it backbone and a long, structured finish. It’s energetic, it’s savoury, and it’s got that perfect balance between fruit generosity and serious structure. Pair it with slow-cooked lamb, roasted veg, or anything that deserves a bold, characterful red. We challenge you to dislike this wine... it's impossible.

You'd pay $32 full price.
