If ever there was a grape capable of magic, it’s pinot noir. Little wonder it’s key to many of the most expensive wines in the world. Luckily, there’s none of that pomposity here.

1x Twin Valleys Reserve Pinot Noir 2023
Red — Pinot Noir
Victoria — Australia
This is a really smart little wine. A lot of red fruit on display, some rich, ripe raspberry and strawberries lead into more densely laden cranberry and red cherry. The tannin is fine grain and delicate - pretty but textural and providing nice, subtle grip. While this is certifiable cool climate, it doesn't want for weight. The palate is satisfying and broad with classic cool climate acidity giving it focus and drive through a fine boned, prickly finish that lasts and lasts.
You’d pay $35 full price.

Tasting Notes
1x Ghost Rock Sacrifice Pinot Noir 2024
Red — Pinot Noir
Tasmania — Australia
Although borderline inaccessible by road, Tassie's scarcely-touched Cradle Coast continues to produce stunning Tasmanian pinot noir. Medium bodied, complex red and black fruit, slight earthy notes and a long, classy finish. Sounds like Tassie to us!
Bruised raspberry, black cherry, warming spice and a subtle, but ever-present, touch of oak. Yep, this is Tassie pinot through and through. From Tasmania's wild and untamed Cradle Coast, the refined beauty of this wine seems incongruous with its place of origin. That is, of course, until you look a little deeper. There's a subtle gnarliness underpinning every aspect of this wine, like a boxer with a pretty face. Just because something's completely gorgeous, doesn't mean it can't pack a punch.
You’d pay $36 full price.

1x Wheeler Wines Willowlake Pinot Noir 2021
Red — Pinot Noir
Yarra Valley — Australia
A boutique family-run winery sourcing top-tier fruit from standout Yarra Valley sites, Wheeler Wines are making serious noise with this expressive, small-batch pinot. This one hails from the revered Willowlake Vineyard in the Upper Yarra - it's all about volcanic soils, handpicked fruit, French oak and that wonderfully intangible 'pinotsity'. It’s got all the hallmarks of premium single-site pinot, and then some. It’s complex and distinctive, brimming with personality and, most importantly, flavour. A pinot with edge, precision, and soul. Only limited cases made, so don’t sleep on this.
You’d pay $42 full price.

1x Punch Wines Lance's Vineyard Pinot Noir 2019
Red — Pinot Noir
Yarra Valley — Australia
A dark and brooding expression of the Yarra. With fruit from vines dating back to 1976, 10% whole bunches and 8 months in 35% new oak, the crew at Punch have pulled out all the stops here. Powerful and concentrated black and red fruit with a distinctive lick of oak, velvety tannins and a beautiful, somewhat spicy, finish. A bit of a serious wine and one that will definitely go the distance if you're inclined to age your pinots. Seriously good stuff.
You’d pay $55 full price.

1x Kellybrook Edenesque Pinot Noir 2023
Red — Pinot Noir
Yarra Valley — Australia
A blend of hand-picked pinot noir grapes from 3 Upper-Yarra sites, the Siwa, the Willowlake and the Full Moon vineyards. If you've spent any time in or around the Yarra then you know those names. You know their reputation. You know what that fruit is capable of. All on display in this gorgeous bottle of wine. A vibrant ruby red in the glass that draws you in, then an aromatic hit that’s all about freshness and finesse. Think juicy raspberry and dark cherries, with little hints forest floor. The palate takes it up a notch - those bright red fruits are joined by sweet spice, with hints of cinnamon, nutmeg and a gentle lick of toasty French oak. It’s layered, lively and dangerously drinkable. A beautiful balance of fruit and finesse.
You’d pay $35 full price.

1x Helen & Joey Layla Pinot Noir 2024
Red — Pinot Noir
Yarra Valley — Australia
This is classic Yarra valley pinot noir - a celebration of fruit and spice. Raspberry coulis, fresh winter strawberries, sappy red cherry and sweet spices. This has real complexity in the glass. Rhubarb tartness mixes with spiced cherry and some vanilla nuance. Nutty, savoury aspects are set against earthy, mushroom umami character. More and more reveals itself as it opens up in the glass. When it comes to fruit weight this wine punches well above its weight-class. Full-fruited, fresh, and bursting with energy – pitch perfect Yarra valley pinot.
You’d pay $45 full price.
