Why do we love this case?
Are you a fan of the hits? We sure are – that’s why we keep dishing ‘em up. And when it comes to classics, it doesn’t get much more celebrated, more tried and true, more iconic-for-a-reason than pinot, chardy, and riesling. Are you a fan of style, finesse, brightness, lift, ripping acidity, perfume, and complexity? Then this is purpose built just for you. Take a deep dive into three of the most popular grapes that have been getting wine nerds revved up for as long as there have been wine nerds to begin with! </p>
2x Matahiwi Estate Reserve Pinot Noir 2020
Red — Pinot Noir
For New Zealand pinot at this price, it’d be fair not to expect much. It’s a really tough grape to handle at the best of times, let alone when on a budget. Every now and then, though, you do find some gems. This is one of those gems.
You’d pay $35 full price.

2x Lighthouse Pinot Noir 2020
Red — Pinot Noir
Waipara Valley — New Zealand
‘From the edge of a country on the edge of the earth’ is their tagline, and here is a beacon to stop you in your wine-loving tracks and make you look twice. From vines on the edge of the small island in the South Pacific, silhouetted by the Southern Alps, comes wine on the cutting edge. And if I was a lighthouse keeper, I’d want something good in my glass on dark and stormy nights, so lucky these guys have come to the rescue.
Kiwi pinot at this price is worth stopping for alone. With a solid score from Wine Orbit and a package this good, send a message in a bottle home to the folks. With all the spiced dark cherry and slightly herbal earthiness you might look for, along with silkiness and approachability, you’ll be thankful you saw the light.
You’d pay $30 full price.

2x Pirramimma Heritage Chardonnay 2022
White — Chardonnay
South Australia — Australia
We don’t need to tell you about Pirramimma, do we? By now if you’re a regular of Vinomofo, we’re betting that you’ve tried a drop or two from this legendary winery. To say their red wines have been fan favourites would be to severely understate the cult following of this brand. Yes mofo, their white wines are truly as iconic as their reds. This is as abundant as you might expect (or crave), abound with notes of toast, crème brûlée, hazelnut and ripe peaches. If chardonnay is a red wine lover’s white, then this has got to be the one.

2x Sophie Schaal Chardonnay 2022
White — Chardonnay
South Africa — South Africa
Roll out the red carpet! That’s right, it’s the mofo favourite chardonnay from Sophie Schaal. You’d be right to expect a very smart chardonnay here, with Sophie having studied at the winemaking school in Burgundy. The wine is full and smooth, bursting with melon and citrus, dancing alongside mineral notes and soft acidity. This is a cracking chardonnay at an amazing price and we are as excited about the wine as we are to work with Sophie’s range into the future.

Sophie Schaal is one special winemaker, splitting her time between South Africa and Alsace to make wine all year round. We wouldn’t be surprised if Sophie’s veins run with more wine than they do blood.
You’d pay $25 full price.

2x Kilikanoon Golden Hillside Riesling 2021
White — Riesling
Clare Valley — Australia
Another year and another glorious vintage of one or our absolute favourites. We are still wondering if this “Golden Hillside” is an actual place, or a mythical place of the gods. The riesling from the Hillside is nothing short of heavenly, and the price suggests some sort of divine intervention. Plus, however high the vineyards of Clare Valley can get, surely those planted on celestial slopes are more so. How else would you get such an otherworldly balance of drool-worthy lime and sunshine-soaked lemons, refreshing minerality and cloudlike complexity? The bottle definitely says Clare Valley though.
You’d pay $45 full price.

Riesling in all its glory, hailing from the isolated left pocket of Australia. Just imagine. The sun’s out, you’re relaxing in the arvo and wanting a sip of something to surprise and delight the senses, all the while keeping things cool, crisp and refreshing. Trust us on this one.
