1x Pertaringa Yeoman Shiraz 2023
Red — Shiraz
McLaren Vale — Australia
A South Australian icon, with a hefty 4.5 Vivino rating to boot. This awe-inspiring 2023 vintage is a powerful, multi-layered and full-bodied wine, heaving with fruit richness that is seemlessly intergrated with silky tannin. Not for the faint-hearted, but for lovers of gloriously intense shiraz! The fruit for this flagship shiraz is sourced from four blocks, ranging from 20 through to over 140 years old, and it is an absolute stunner each year it is made. Deep maroon purple in the glass with a highly aromatic and powerful bouquet of mixed spice, peppercorn, toasty oak, and a decadent nuttiness you can only get from super high-quality oak. Rich and intense blackberry, mulberry, and cocoa notes follow through from the nose to its highly sophisticated and incredible palate. Decant to drink now or cellar for the next 20-odd years and be gloriously rewarded.

Seriously, whenever this wine is open on the tasting bench it seems to attract more than one mofo in the office as they try their chances at a glass. On the palate, it's a flavour circus, with blackberries, plums, and a dash of spice performing a daredevil act, while the oak provides the background music. Tasting Notes
2x Pertaringa 'Belonging to the Hills' Shiraz 2023
Red — Shiraz
McLaren Vale — Australia
An instant staple of the cellar. This one is completely irresistible. A normal afternoon tasting at the Mofo tasting bench was quickly interrupted when this wine was poured. Suddenly, all attention was caught, and the moment savoured. Bec Hardy, you've done it again. The Pertaringa name is no stranger to the Aussie household. The iconic Hardy family are to wine what vegemite is to toast: a perfect match. So, to land this beauty from the hands of Bec Hardy is monumental for us, and we couldn't be more pleased. This is McLaren Shiraz through and through, with densely packed dark chocolate and fresh roasted coffee exploding on the nose. The palate follows through just as true, layered with preserved plums, dark forest berries and a lick of vanillin softness. There's one word for this wine, and it's awesome.
You’d pay $60 full price.

The Pertaringa name is no stranger to the Aussie household. The iconic Hardy family are to wine what vegemite is to toast: a perfect match. Take a great vintage, a world-famous blend, and classic McLaren Vale calibre and you have a wine that is almost impossible to get sick of. 'Jubey' was a word thrown around a lot on the tasting bench, so you know it must be true. Luscious, smooth, and fruit driven: this is a wine you can really sink your teeth into.
