Why do we love this case?
Suffering from a little bit of decision fatigue? Well we've collated a tidy little six pack that equally represents value and excellence. It's a no-bad-bits, all-hits selection of the good stuff. Are they highly pointed? Sure. Do they win multiple awards? You bet. Is one of the producers the Halliday Wine Companion Winemaker of the Year 2024? Absolutely. But crucially - above all else - these wines are downright delicious in every way. Back us in, Mofo, we guarantee you'll love our picks.
1x Rosenvale Vineyards Vine Vale Road Grenache 2021
Red — Grenache
Barossa Valley — Australia
This wonderful grenache is from one of the best parts of Barossa. It is a wine that patience has rewarded, from old vines that were planted in the 1930s, bring intensity and complexity. It is a classic wine, brimming with fruit and after a year and a half in oak (all French), fruit and tannin are well integrated. That said, it’s still quite young so you’ll see lively fruit - plums, berries, blueberries - along with a real spiciness. I’m talking about sweet and punchy spices like liquorice and fennel. This vibrancy will mellow over the next few years and I’ve no doubt that it will just become more and more interesting.

1x Penley Estate Black Bull Cabernet Sauvignon 2021
Red — Cabernet Sauvignon
Coonawarra — Australia
Guess who’s back and ready to go? One of our favourite Coonawarra producers, Penley Estate, has done the hard work to bring back this mofo fave drop. Aptly named, this robust cabernet packs a punch with strong, flavourful and classic Coonawarra characteristics we’ve all come to love and enjoy. Dark fruits of the black forest abound and surround the recogniseable cedary, minty core; while framed with superb mineral tannins that allow for youthful drinking while still earning a nook in your cellar over the next 10+ years.
You’d pay $50 full price.

1x Farmer's Leap Random Shot Shiraz 2020
Red — Shiraz
Padthaway — Australia
From a little-known corner of South Australia, somewhere along the Riddoch Highway, comes this exceptional value shiraz. It’s absolutely jam-packed with stewed fruit, chocolate and liquorice. Ripe and delicious flavour that packs a real punch is carried on the back of bright acidity, lifting blackberries, bramble, black cherry and prosciutto notes alike to a long and delectable finish. This has to be up there in terms of best value buys. Whether you’re shopping for a pantry-stocking quaffer or something to share with the family over Sunday lunch, this is a great value contender with a foot in both camps.

1x First Drop Wines Home of the Brave Shiraz 2020
Red — Shiraz
Barossa Valley — Australia
If you’re like us and you’ve seen it all in the wine game, you would know the warm embrace that is First Drop wines. In the heart of the Barossa Valley up Nuriootpa way, and known to many for his iconic Mother’s Milk shiraz, John Retsas runs a ship that is all about the fun and the playful. ‘Delicious’ is a word that flows off the tongue when drinking any of his wines, and this shiraz is certainly no exception. While still truly Barossa- abundant with spiced plums, there’s some redcurrants and cherries for a light edge. Like Retsas himself, this wine is high of spirits and light of heart.

1x Kirrihill Partner Riesling 2020
White — Riesling
Clare Valley — Australia
Reading reviews of this wine, it’s plain to see it has captivated many hearts. The abundant layers of lemon-lime, white jasmine and honeysuckle florals entice you in a wash of slate and saline pebbles. In classic Clare Valley riesling style, the first couple of years displayed a wine of supercharged lime cordial, and is now unfurling its layers like a flower in full, beautiful bloom. I mean, just look at those scores. Sounds like we’re not the only ones in awe of this drop.

1x Nannup Ridge Chardonnay 2018
White — Chardonnay
Western Australia — Australia
Full bodied chardonnay with persistent acidity from a Five Star Halliday rated winery? We can’t say no. The fruit comes off a small parcel of land sitting over granite soils just inland of iconic Margaret River. 2018 was a bumper growing season for the region - long, dry days for fruit development and cool nights to lock in acidity and freshness. Taste lemon curd and burnt meringue leading into rich stone fruit, ripe citrus, and rocky minerality. This is one for the chardy classicists - a knockout wine from a knockout vintage.
You’d pay $26 full price.
