1x Reschke RSR Cabernet Sauvignon 2021
Red — Cabernet Sauvignon
Coonawarra — Australia
'That' Coonawarra cabernet - You know the one...
We’ve now seen many a ripper vintage of this baby but with two 96 point reviews, this one might take the cake. It’s one deal that flies out the door and into your kitchen. For those in the know, you’re never disappointed once you pull the cork. A cellar release with a few years of evolution - give it a burl, and you’ll see that it is only starting to touch its prime drinking window. Usually exclusive to the wine producer’s database, this trickles out to us only when we are lucky, somehow our charming wine buyers have managed to get on that lucky list. Boisterous tannins that have mellowed to a brooding, silky palate, with chunky fruit joined by herbaceous and somewhat meaty notes. There’s still classic cabernet cassis and blackberry, which is accompanied by rosemary, thyme and a long and savoury finish. Be quick, you too should be so lucky!

Tasting Notes
1x Mt Bera Wild & Free Shiraz 2021
Red — Shiraz
Adelaide Hills — Australia
Mt Bera have been one of our quiet favourites for years. Exceptional quality, serious value and a consistency that makes every new release a very safe bet. This 2021 shiraz is one of their best. It's the kind of red that works on a Tuesday night and a Saturday night in equal measure. Generous enough to be approachable, powerful enough to be interesting. Something for everyone. People tend to forget about Adelaide Hills shiraz. In a good year though - and 2021 was a very good year - it produces something that stops you mid-conversation and makes you really think about what your tasting. Fresh, vibrant and genuinely fun to drink - ripe red cherry, raspberry, wild herbs and a choc-orange character that gives it a playfulness without ever sacrificing substance. The tannins are fine and powdery, the mouthfeel is lively and energetic, and there's enough grunt and depth underneath all that freshness to satisfy anyone who likes their shiraz with a bit of serious backbone. This is one of those wines that just ends up disappearing from the cellar far before you thought it would - and for this price, why not?!

1x Mountadam Patriarch Shiraz 2021
Red — Shiraz
Eden Valley — Australia
This is shiraz from way up in the High Eden that's been matured for 18 months in new and seasoned French oak barriques and puncheons. Of course it's a beast - what else could we possibly expect. Full-bodied doesn't even begin to cover it. Rich, densely concentrated and powerful enough to make you sit up straight. It's genuinely one of the larger wines we've seen in quite some time – this thing is swamped with lush black cherry and liquorice, framed by a sturdy tannin structure that's got the backbone to age for years. Scorched earth, black olive, more of that dried meat character, vanillin cedar and black pepper lurk in the background like they're plotting something... and it turns out they are - a finish worthy of an Agatha Christie novel. A fantastic wine from start to finish.

Tasting Notes
1x Fighting Gully Road Grenache 2023
Red — Grenache
Beechworth — Australia
Beechworth doesn't do ordinary. Neither do these two winemakers. Grown at arguably the coolest grenache site in the entire country, this is about as far from a warm-climate, fruit-bomb grenache as you can get. Instead think pinot noir - because that's exactly how it's made. Perfumed, fine-boned and seriously sophisticated. We're in love. The two winemakers behind this are among the most respected names in one of Australia's most premium cool-climate regions - a viticulturist and winemaker whose combined obsession with quality shows in every single bottle they put their names to. When these guys make something, people pay attention. If you love pinot noir and you haven't explored cool-climate Grenache yet, this is your entry point. This one unfurls itself with mulberry, blue and red fruits at the core, lavender, anise, bay leaf and a smoky charcuterie complexity that gives it a savoury depth that's completely captivating. The tannins are fine, the palate flows long and effortlessly, and the finish lingers in the best possible way.

1x Sorby Adams HandCrafted Pinot Noir 2024
Red — Pinot Noir
South Australia — Australia
Sorby Adams does things properly. Always has. And this pinot noir is a perfect example of what happens when a boutique producer with serious winemaking pedigree turns their attention to one of the world's most demanding varieties. This is pinot that doesn't ask much of you. Just a glass, maybe some good food alongside it and a big smile! Bright, vibrant and completely inviting from the first pour - cherry, strawberry and raspberry at the core, with a savoury earthiness and a lick of spice that gives it a complexity well beyond what most wines at this price deliver. The texture is silky and supple, the tannins are fine and seamlessly integrated, and the finish is clean and satisfying in a way that makes the next glass feel completely inevitable. Drinks beautifully right now and has another few years of easy, pleasurable drinking ahead of it. Smart, well-crafted cool-climate pinot from one of our favourite boutique producers. Grab a few. You'll go through them faster than you think

Tasting Notes
1x Richard Hamilton Colton's GSM 2021
Red — GSM
McLaren Vale — Australia
This is an old-school, proper GSM from McLaren Vale. This is where the region's Mediterranean vibes and the producer's five generations of winemaking know-how come together in spectacular fashion. We can't mention the name of the producer, but let's just say that these guys are firmly a household name. Don't miss out, this is an absolute belter! The grenache brings plush, juicy texture. Shiraz adds backbone and grip. Mourvèdre (or mataro) rounds it all out with depth and spice. You're getting dark fruit richness with whispers of Christmas cake, cinnamon and clove - the kind of aromatics that make you want to pour another glass before you've even finished pouring the first. On the palate it's smooth, generous and well-structured, with tannins that feel soft and slippery rather than chunky or blocky. The finish goes the distance, which is always a good sign. Brilliant with slow-cooked lamb, a big bowl of pasta, or paella if you're feeling fancy. Equally good on its own when you just want something to get the job down.

1x Helen & Joey Layla Chardonnay 2024
White — Chardonnay
Yarra Valley — Australia
Get a bit of this in your glass! Ripe, rich stone fruits and creamy nougat layered atop, dare we say, toasty lemon butter. All the things we love about Yarra Valley chardonnay, right here, right now. A thoroughly harmonious swirl of citrus, stone fruit and a hint of fresh cream on warm scones. This is a Yarra chardy with one thing in mind, balance. Natural acidity and fresh minerality are complimented, even accentuated, by a subtle touch of French oak and a very chardonnay-esque mouthfeel. Somehow both rich and vibrant. We're big fans.

1x Pacifc Ridge Pinot Grigio 2025
White — Pinot Grigio
Waipara Valley — New Zealand
New Zealand pinot grigio. Crisp, clean and completely easy to love. This is the style that makes pinot grigio such a reliable crowd-pleaser - fresh, bright and built for immediate enjoyment. No ceremony required. Just get it cold and get into it. Ripe pear and green apple on the nose, with a citrus lift and a delicate floral note that keeps things lively and inviting. The palate is clean and refreshing, with a light, zippy acidity and a smooth, dry finish that makes the next sip feel completely inevitable. Seafood, light salads, Asian dishes or a warm afternoon with nowhere to be. This wine works for all of it without breaking a sweat.

1x Maddens Rise Arcobaleno White Blend 2019
White — White Blend
Yarra Valley — Australia
This is a wine that rewards curiosity. With a few years of bottle age under its belt, it’s moved beyond bright primary fruit into something more layered and expressive — think texture, subtle savoury notes, and a beautifully rounded finish.
Crafted with a thoughtful blend of varieties, this is a white that leans into complexity rather than simplicity. It’s the kind of bottle that evolves in the glass, making it just as suited to the dinner table as it is to slow, considered sipping. A little off the beaten path, and all the better for it.

Tasting Notes
1x Ville D’Arfanta Prosseco Gran Cuvée Brut
Sparkling — Prosecco
Veneto — Italy
Not every bottle needs a reason. This one actively discourages you from looking for one. It creates it out of thin air. From one of the Veneto's most celebrated sparkling wine producers comes a Cuvée designed with one purpose in mind - to be opened, enjoyed and opened again. Go on, treat yourself. Pre-dinner drinks, a long seafood lunch, a celebratory moment or a completely ordinary Wednesday evening that could use a little lift. This wine belongs at all of it. Bright straw yellow with a fine, relentless bead that catches the light beautifully. On the nose it's all about freshness - pear, green apple and white florals leading the way, with a gentle nuttiness underneath that gives it a bit more character than your average Italian sparkler. The palate is soft and lively all at once, with a clean, fruit-driven finish that just keeps refreshing itself glass after glass. Get it properly cold. Pour it over anything from the sea - spaghetti alle vongole, grilled prawns, a simple fish - or just drink it on its own because it's absolutely lovely and that's enough.

1x Pauletts Clare Valley Riesling 2025
White — Riesling
Clare Valley — Australia
Clare Valley riesling proves, again, that it's one of the best 'bang for your buck' wines in the world, yep, seriously. Packed full of distinctive regional qualities: lemon-lime cordial, orange blossom, zippy acidity and that slaty mineral note we all know and love - this is an absolute winner. It's crisp, it's clean and it's got 95pt Reviews from everyone that's even looked at the thing. Right in the sweet spot. On the spectrum of Clare riz, this sits bang in the middle, 'the goldilocks zone', so to speak. The acid is prevalent, but not too austere. The fruit is developed, but not overly rich. The mineral aspects are refreshing, but not spritzy. It's the kind of wine you can show to anyone, but far from boring. A fresh, dry and completely delicious bottle of rizza that'll have you reaching for another glass quicker than you think. A little dangerous in that regard. Drink a case now and have a look at another one in 5 years... trust us.

Adelaide Hills — Australia
A crisp, dry, berry-laiden 95pt drop. We can't tell you who this 5 Red Star producer stunning Adelaide Hills rosé is from but it's a true favourite here at Vinomofo that's for sure. A super classy drop. Pretty in (salmon) pink, this rosé isn't just a beauty in the glass. On the nose and palate a joyous bouquet of wild strawberries, crunchy red delicious apple and cranberry with hints of vanilla and spice perfectly harmonise the long minerally finish to leave you craving more. This is a rosé for all seasons, we suggest stocking up while you can.
