2x Fox Creek Old Vine Shiraz 2022
Red — Shiraz
McLaren Vale — Australia
This is no shrinking violet - it’s an unapologetically plush, full-bodied red built to impress the big-shiraz faithful. Think dark fruit liqueur meets espresso and plum sauce, with waves of chocolate, clove, date and anise all rolling in like a flavour parade. It’s rich, velvety and just this side of decadent, but not without brains. There’s iron and bay leaf cutting through, adding a savoury edge that keeps it from tipping into syrupy territory. Then the finish hits - long, dark and insanely deep - leaving you both satisfied and curious for another glass. This is a wine for the loyal McLaren Vale shiraz-heads. The ones who don’t apologise for loving flavour, weight and a bit of drama in their glass. If that’s you, clear some space in the decanter.

2x Journey Wines Coldstream Pinot Noir 2023
Red — Pinot Noir
Yarra Valley — Australia
Wowee, we've got an outstanding example of single-vineyard Yarra pinot on our hands here! As generous as it is sophisticated - this wine is paradoxically super easy to drink, and at the same time, next level complex. Trying to pick individual notes is like picking individual voices in a choir. And why should we? If the song sounds good, let 'em sing - and the wine is certainly singing now.

2x Metricup Hills Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2024
Red — Cabernet Sauvignon
Margaret River — Australia
From what Vinomofo Wine Buyer (and 30-year Margaret River wine-veteran) Matt, described as "The most underrated producer in Margaret River", we have a brilliant example of the regions champion red wine varietal - cabernet sauvignon. This is as regional as it is varietal - medium-to-full bodied, with drying, albeit silky tannin and a dark, brooding fruit profile. This might be the easiest wine in our arsenal to blind taste, and that's a MASSIVE compliment. Simply gorgeous.

2x Thousand Candles Gathering Field Cabernet Franc 2023
Red — Cabernet Franc
Yarra Valley — Australia
Cabernet franc is many things to many people. One of the most versatile grapes on the planet, this one comes in with a beautifully perfumed nose, fantastically energetic palate and seemingly endless depth of flavour. If you enjoy cab sauv, grenache, merlot... honestly, just get this in your glass. This one sees a good hit of whole bunch (around 30%) and a long, gentle soak on skins, which gives it that lifted perfume and subtle structure without turning it into a tannin bomb. Matured in seasoned French oak for several months and bottled without fuss, it’s all about purity and drinkability. Aromas lean toward red cherry, blackberry and a little juniper spice, with dried herbs and a faint floral note drifting through. There’s a cool-climate freshness that makes it feel alive from the first swirl. The palate sits in that beautiful medium-bodied zone - juicy red fruits up front, a hint of pink peppercorn and bay leaf, and a fine, chalky grip that keeps everything tidy. It’s balanced, energetic and dangerously easy to pour another glass.

2x Eminence Novella Featherweight Red 2024
Red — Red Blend
King Valley — Australia
This is really cool wine. It's a blend of pinot noir, pinot meunier (of Champagne fame), and pinot gris. A pinot-by-three, if you will. The resulting wine is packed full of vibrant fresh raspberries and strawberries. A really energetic, exciting pinot blend. It's my favourite of the Novella range from Clare Burder and Co. There's raspberry and rhubarb on offer, with little hints of spice woven throughout. The red fruit feels pulpy and textural, like its just come out of the press. Versatile and ready to be universally enjoyed – a stunner.

2x Hither & Yon Old Jarvie 'The Enforcer' Shiraz Mataro Grenache 2020
Red — Shiraz Blend
McLaren Vale — Australia
This is a GSM with serious backbone - shiraz and mataro crushed, grenache whole berry, all from sustainably farmed McLaren Vale vineyards with serious pedigree. The 2020 vintage was a tough one: dry, hot, stressful for the vines, and ultimately brilliant for concentration and natural acidity. Lower yields, longer ripening, and fruit that had to work hard to get there. In the glass it's all dark fruit, smoked nuts, a coastal herb and iodine edge, with polished tannins and a silky length that betrays just how carefully this was put together. Dense and structured, but never heavy. Fire up some spicy sausage pasta and let The Enforcer do what it does best.
