Why do we love this case?
The Lucky Dip Case is back! The first time we did this, we broke the internet. This time we’ve bubble-wrapped the servers because they’re in for another beating.
Every case contains the same eleven wicked wines, including some of our absolute faves here at the ‘fo. More info on them below, and they’re all good things. All mofo standard - i.e. nothing we haven’t enjoyed ourselves.
Then there’s the added excitement of seeing which one of these world-beater wines you will receive as your twelfth.
The twelfth wine is the wildcard and could be any one of these:

The easiest way to guarantee to get a bottle of Grange is to go out and buy one for yourself. If you, like me, don’t have $1000 handy, this is definitely your best (and cheapest) option! Red — Cabernet Sauvignon
Coonawarra — Australia
This is jam packed full of black and red fruit - currants and raspberries mix with bramble and plums. The earthy and greener notes chime in late, backing up that initial fruit with some savoury depth. Classic Coonawarra - completely delicious. Estate fruit from the famed Hollick vineyards in Coonawarra, this is cab sauv like Aussies know and love. Certainly, a little bit of age behind this number has helped to fill out the mid palate, making it rich and dense with threads of fennel and mint throughout. It's very hard not to enjoy this wine - and we're speaking from experience.

A lively, yet brooding Cabernet Blend - this one's all about guts with a little bit of glamour. Glossy and pitch black in the glass, this has the feel of a wine that's not so much about varietal expression, rather pure indulgence. It's made to be enjoyed and enjoyed now. Smack this down on the table next to anything off the BBQ and you've got yourself a wonderful afternoon!

Clare Valley — Australia
Pauletts have been doing this in the Clare Valley for decades. And this shiraz is exactly why they keep getting invited back to every wine show they've ever even walked past. Rich, generous and completely inviting - dark plum, blackberry, cocoa and mocha on the nose, with liquorice, aniseed and a warm kitchen spice character woven through a fleshy, supple palate. The tannins are fine and perfectly weighted, and the finish is long, balanced and just a little bit addictive. Clare Valley shiraz doing what Clare Valley shiraz does best. At a price that makes grabbing more than one bottle the obvious move.

This is old-school Padthaway through and through - a region known for building genuinely powerful, heavyweight Australian Shiraz, and this 79/21% blend of Shiraz/Cabernet is no exception. But this one's not gonna cost you and arm and a leg. Just a bottle of this and a steak and you're away.

McLaren Vale — Australia
This shiraz genuinely punches well above its weight - especially when you take into account the name on the label - delivering quality and complexity you'd expect from wines commanding significantly higher prices. It's got power, finesse and approachability, meaning you can geek out analysing all the layers or just pour generously and enjoy without overthinking. Vibrant, polished McLaren Vale shiraz crafted with estate-grown fruit sourced from two of this producer's most famous vineyards. 9 months in seasoned American (70%) and French (30%) oak brings a bit of grunt whilst retaining fruit purity. Ripe dark plum and spice aromas leading to a generous, structured palate - juicy black fruit, subtle peppery notes, a plush texture and fine supple tannins stretching to lingering finish. Store or pour - up to you - this one will be sitting pretty from now until 2030 at least!
