Why do we love this case?
The Lucky Dip Case is back! The first time we did this, we broke the internet. This time we’ve bubble-wrapped the servers because they’re in for another beating.
Every case contains the same eleven wicked wines, including some of our absolute faves here at the ‘fo. More info on them below, and they’re all good things. All mofo standard - i.e. nothing we haven’t enjoyed ourselves.
Then there’s the added excitement of seeing which one of these world-beater wines you will receive as your twelfth.

Big and round. Imposing and broad on the palate. This is wine that celebrates the quintessentially Aussie style in it's bold approach. Blueberries and plums lead out, bramble, nettle, blackberry seeds mark the finish. There is classic chocolate and spice, coupled with some oak sweetness in the mix as well. This is a wine for bold flavours -it'll do wonderfully side-by-side with a takeaway pizza from your local spot.

This wine is, without doubt, one of the most popular we’ve ever seen at Vinomofo. How popular is popular, you ask? Well, thirsty mofos took over 30,000 bottles of a previous vintage straight out of our hands. Yup. We know it’s a great wine deal but when our mofo members are this unanimous in their desire for this drop; well it’s simply cause for one big shiraz gluggin’ celebration.
Full bodied and silky smooth with lashings of plums and earthy spice; if you’re quaffing this Frankland River gem on a week night, know you’re in good company alongside many a mofo. With one fist in the air (and the other holding a glass of this wine) we salute you!

A very smart little wine that is at once knock-about and complex. A medley of cherries and blackcurrants accompanied by hints of freshly ground coffee, dark chocolate, peppermint, liquorice, and subtle pepper aromas. It boasts a dense, velvety texture, offering a well-balanced fruit profile.

Gemtree- what can we say. They've truly carved their icon status out of the rock in the Vale. There's nothing but focus on detail with this crew, particularly if you take note of the organic & biodynamic practices that they adhere to. If you go to those lengths to farm, you know that they're not holding back on the love in the wine. This is perfectly shapely cabernet; the aromatics explode out of the glass and follow through on the supple, smooth palate. That's a winner.

“A robust Grange from a lauded vintage, this wields sheer power with such compelling prowess. Uncompromising Grange. There are rich blackberries and plums on offer, together with brazen oak and abundant notes of blackcurrants, black cherries, charcoal, cola and hard brown spices. So fleshy and intense. Dark-chocolate and cocoa-powder aromas and flavors here, too. The tannins are polished and long, extruding deep into the finish and holding endlessly. Dark chocolate, black cherry, dark plum and more. Impressive. Brazen. One of the great Granges that will drink magnificently for decades to come.” - James Suckling
“Deep colour. Beautiful and classic with intense blackberry, blackcurrant dark chocolate espresso aromas and wax polish, roasted chestnut, malt notes. “A much-awaited vintage that fulfils expectations and then some. It has all the elements that you come to expect but still you have to sit back and marvel that so much can be going on inside one wine. Firstly, it simply ain’t Grange unless it is wearing its traditional American oak coat, and this iteration isn’t going to shy away from that. But perhaps it is the generosity across the board of South Australia’s 2018 vintage that gathers in 18 months of barrel maturation, puts shape to its broad-shouldered dark fruits, turns oak notes into chocolate and sarsaparilla characters on one side of the brain and beef and mushroom braise in the other. All in all, it is a fabulous balance of inputs: big fruit, classically prominent oak, all its structural tannins and acidity fitting cleverly into one exceptionally complex and engaging being. Blewitt Springs, a sub-region of McLaren Vale, specialises in excellent-quality grenache. So much so, in fact, that grape is now synonymous with the region. It's easy to see, then, how exciting this opportunity is! Vines planted in 1965 offer incredibly concentrated fruit that delivers outstanding quality wine that is singing right now. Ripe red fruits (raspberries, cherries, red-currants) are perfectly intertwined with spices and amazingly silky tannins. This is Vale grenache at its absolute finest!

Impossible to overstate the excellence on offer here. This is superb stuff. There is so much complexity and depth to the wine, something new is ready to reveal itself at every sip. Cassis and black cherry out of the gate. Some riper, richer plums and brambles mix with roasted vegetables and sweet spice. It's powerful but never overbearing, full and rich but precise and focused - everything is as it should be. A wine with genuine presence on the palate. Oomph that doesn't veer into being unctuous. The structure of the wine will ensure it is long lived; while drinking brilliantly now, this is a wine with a conservative two decades left in the tank.

Made by the grape master Matt Head (who you might also know from the cult favourite Big Easy Radio) whose creative and level-headed approach to life results in wines with spirit and soul. This parcel has been safeguarded under the Parous label, just waiting for its time and loving home to go to. It must be your lucky day mofo, because they've found it with you. It's powerful, but not overwhelming; the perfect choice to keep you entertained from weeknights to the weekend.
