Why do we love this case?
The Lucky Dip Case is back! The first time we did this, we broke the internet. This time we’ve bubble-wrapped the servers because they’re in for another beating.
Every case contains the same eleven wicked wines, including some our absolute faves here at the ‘fo. More info on them below, and they’re all good things. All mofo standard - i.e. nothing we haven’t enjoyed ourselves.
Then there’s the added excitement of seeing which one of these world-beater wines you will receive as your twelfth.

This wine is, without doubt, one of the most popular we’ve ever seen at Vinomofo. How popular is popular, you ask? Well, thirsty mofos took over 30,000 bottles of a previous vintage straight out of our hands. Yup. We know it’s a great wine deal but when our mofo members are this unanimous in their desire for this drop; well it’s simply cause for one big shiraz gluggin’ celebration.
Full bodied and silky smooth with lashings of plums and earthy spice; if you’re quaffing this Frankland River gem on a week night, know you’re in good company alongside many a mofo. With one fist in the air (and the other holding a glass of this wine) we salute you!

An all-singing, all-dancing celebration of fruit. Shiraz from the cooler regions of the Yarra Valley with a neatly assembled bouquet of raspberry, red cherry, and juicy black currant. The fruit is focused and complete and pure in its expression. The ripe aromatic profile is supported by a bit of gamey decay, some brittle leaves and delicate dried flower. Shapely and full in the mouth - the tannic profile has relaxed a little but still offers structure and a bit of welcome rigidity. Fresh and vibrant and extremely approachable - the 2018 Block X is smack bang in the middle of it’s drinking window

From a little-known corner of South Australia, somewhere along the Riddoch Highway, comes this exceptional value shiraz. It’s absolutely jam-packed with stewed fruit, chocolate and liquorice. Ripe and delicious flavour that packs a real punch is carried on the back of bright acidity, lifting blackberries, bramble, black cherry and prosciutto notes alike to a long and delectable finish. This has to be up there in terms of best value buys. Whether you’re shopping for a pantry-stocking quaffer or something to share with the family over Sunday lunch, this is a great value contender with a foot in both camps.

Like a good book, wine is not all about what’s on the cover. But we have to say, when you’re getting great vino in some super sleek packaging, it’s a big bonus. This is the Barossa classic with a modern edge. Fruit-driven and rich, it hits every corner of your palate with pleasing intensity. The oak-imparted tannins make for a ripper time with some charred meat or veg, perfect for that easy weeknight in.

When looking at a deal at this price, the question could be raised “yes that’s a great deal but what about the quality?” Well, we love it but don’t take our word for it. With strong reviews and the consistency CW Wines is known for, be assured you’ll be just as happy with the quality as you are with the price. Wonderfully ripe and inviting, the perfumed bouquet shows dark fruit intensity combined with violet, vanillin oak, cocoa and subtle spice notes, leading to a concentrated palate that’s opulent and persistent. The wine is powerful and richly textured with excellent fruit purity, seamlessly framed by silky tannins. Drink now, it’s good to go!

Very deep, dark, dense colour with plenty of purple in the rim. The bouquet is classic Grange, loaded with toast-smoky-oaky scents of smoked-meats and toasted barrels, dried herbs adding an extra fragrance, and hints of five-spice, especially star anise. It’s very full-bodied and concentrate, powerful and long-lasting, but the tannins are beautifully crafted and supple, harmonious, and avoid any suggestion of astringency. The core of the wine is lusciously fruit-sweet and delicious, the robe of tannin complementary rather than domineering. The finish is tremendously long and satisfying. I can enjoy drinking this now: not usual with a new Grange release. A quite magnificent wine and a great Grange. - Huon Hooke
Strongly marked - as always - by its 100% American oak elevage, the 2017 Grange backs up the cedar and vanilla notes with ample blackberry and cassis fruit. Full-bodied, ripe and almost decadently creamy in the mouth, it’s loaded with substance, concentrated and rich, yet- in the context of Grange - relatively light and elegant-seeming on the finish. A special series wine from a prominent McLaren Vale winery isn’t something that’s easy to get your hands on. And we mean, sometimes this stuff can’t even be picked up when you bang on the doors of wineries themselves. This is intensely dense, which sounds just as smooth as it drinks. Heightened aromas of blackcurrant and black cherries waft enticingly from the decanter, which help to open this to its full potential. The oak influence is superbly balanced, helping to lift the marked quality of the fruit and give this beauty the longevity it deserves. Sometimes you say we spoil you mofos, and we’re starting to think that you’re right.

Just when we thought Powell & Sons couldn’t impress us more, they raised the bar higher than it’s ever been before. This seems to good to be true, right? We’re pinching ourselves too: it’s not every day that you get the best sub-regions of the Barossa (Marananga playing a big part of that), with the fruit of each vineyard separately nurtured and carefully blended after 18 months ageing in French oak. The name says it all, but this isn’t just any blend. It’s the royal king of blends. All shiraz. All star fruit. All the best oak. All in one neat little parcel. If this doesn’t tickle your fancy, truly nothing will.

This wine needs no introduction. It’s the much awaited 2020 vintage of this mad mofo fave. We’re talking about a bold, powerful red wine that has flown out the door almost as quickly as it comes in. If you don’t know by now, we think it’s time for you to loop yourself in.
This ‘Limited Edition’ shiraz comes from the best rows of their famous “War Horse” and “Ironstone” blocks. The vines are old and what they lack in quantity (yield), they make up for in superb quality. Full bodied, but balanced with pepper and spice, there are just so many layers to discover in this wine. Laden with luscious, ripe blackberries, earthy blackcurrants, mocha, hints of cedar and a dollop of liquorice, you’re in for a treat with this divine, velvety red.
