1x Clarendon Hills Astralis Shiraz 2017
Red — Shiraz
McLaren Vale — Australia
This life-changing wine is not only in the league of Hill of Grace and Penfolds Grange, it routinely bests them. Robert Parker called this producer, "one of the greatest winemakers on Planet Earth", and we think that gives a bit of an idea of what we're dealing with here... Ethereal doesn't quite cut it. Complex, intriguing, other-worldly, mystifying, bewitching, spellbinding. Charismatic. Compelling. This is one of those once-in-a-lifetime wines that command the respect of all Australian wine aficionados. Planted in 1920 from Chateau Reynella cuttings, the dry grown vineyard is revered far beyond its borders. Here it is. With 9 years cellar time under their belt to truly develop and mature. The results are quite simple, all told: this is one of the greatest wines you will ever drink.

1x Grant Burge Meshach Shiraz 2022
Red — Shiraz
Barossa — Australia
This one goes out to the connoisseurs, and the true lovers of Barossa shiraz. When we talk about a wine having ‘presence,’ we’re talking about this. A powerful, imposing and timeless Barossa shiraz from a bona fide legend of the Australian winemaking game. Globally sought after. Internationally renowned. Unparalleled craftsmanship. That is to say: this is a big deal. No two ways about it, this wine’s at the big end of town. Lots of fruit, lots of oak, lots of impact. Deeply mysterious in colour; flashes of inky blue and violet purple poking through what is a dark, ominous onyx. Ripe rhubarb and black cherry on the nose, with leather, cedar, and cigar box revealing themselves as the wines allowed to amble around the glass.
Sourced entirely from an old vineyard which was planted in the 1920s, this is one of Australia’s most collected wines from one of the most famous wineries in the Barossa. With the capacity to age for decades, you're not just grabbing this for your dinner party coming up - you're setting yourself up for all the special occasions from now until well into the future. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to own not just a bottle of wine, but a piece of history.
You’d pay $250 full price.

1x Eileen Hardy Hardy Shiraz 2022
Red — Shiraz
McLaren Vale — Australia
This is the McLaren Vale shiraz that sets the benchmark. The big kahuna. The flagship. From the family so entrenched in the Australian wine landscape that it's hard to see where the vines end and their boots start. When we think of Australian shiraz - we think of this family, we think of this wine. This isn’t just any shiraz - it’s a masterclass in balance. Sure, it’s full-bodied, deep and brooding, but it wears its power with style. Waves of blackberry, plum and blueberry rolling through, chased by whiffs of coffee grind and a smoky little savoury twist. Seventeen months in French oak has wrapped it all up in sleek texture and supple tannins that glide across the palate like Tom Cruise in 'Risky Business'. It’s rich, it’s refined, it’s ridiculously good. That perfect dance of intensity and precision that McLaren Vale dreams are made of. Every sip unfurls with dark fruit, chocolate, clove and a touch of violet - lush and layered, but never over the top. Seriously special stuff.
You’d pay $175 full price.

1x Peter Lehmann Stonewell Shiraz 2016
Red — Shiraz
Barossa — Australia
For over 30 years this wine has been spoken about in the same breath as the greatest Shiraz produced anywhere in the country. That's not marketing. That's just the truth. The philosophy behind this wine is beautifully simple: find the very best fruit in the Barossa - the small, intensely concentrated parcels that outperform everything around them - and get out of the way. Over three decades of doing exactly that has produced a wine of legendary status. What was once powerful, muscular and demanding has evolved into something genuinely magnificent. The grunt is still very much there - this is Barossa Shiraz with serious backbone and presence - but time has worked its magic. The tannins have settled into something silky and sophisticated, the dark fruit has deepened and complexified, and the ironstone, graphite and earthy minerality that defines this wine has come into beautiful focus. This is a collector's wine. A cellar wine. A once-in-a-while, pour-it-for-someone-special wine.
You’d pay $120 full price.

1x Katnook Estate Odyssey Cabernet Sauvignon 2022
Red — Cabernet Sauvignon
Coonawarra — Australia
There isn’t much that’s been left out of this wine; the guest list of aromas and flavours reads like an oscars afterparty. The almost impenetrable deep purple colour is an early sign that it’s a heavy hitter that’s not afraid to swing the bat. It is built to go the distance so don’t be afraid to tuck it away in the back of your cellar. If you’re looking for something very special to enjoy in 10, 20 years plus then this has got the legs if you’ve got the patience. It’s ripe red berries, toasty oak and vanilla on the nose. It evolves with some time in the glass or better still, in a decanter - so plan ahead and give it plenty of time to unfurl. Throughout the length and breadth of the palate this wine’s complexity reveals itself in waves of mint, coffee, an array of ripe berries, cassis, cigar box characters and chocolate with a dollop of double cream, just for good measure.!!!
You’d pay $110 full price.

1x d'Arenberg Dead Arm Shiraz 2019
Red — Shiraz
McLaren Vale — Australia
Impossible to overstate the excellence on offer here. This is superb stuff. There is so much complexity and depth to the wine, something new is ready to reveal itself with every sip. Cassis and black cherry out of the gate. Some riper, richer plums and brambles mix with roasted vegetables and sweet spice. It's powerful but never overbearing, full and rich but precise and focused - everything is as it should be. A wine with genuine presence on the palate. Oomph that doesn't veer into being unctuous. The structure of the wine will ensure it is long lived; while drinking brilliantly now, this is a wine with a conservative two decades left in the tank.
You’d pay $78 full price.
