1x Pirramimma Warhorse Shiraz 2020
Red — Shiraz
McLaren Vale — Australia
Let's forget about the incredible pedigree and formidable reputation of the producer for a minute. Let's talk about the wine itself... The nose is a riot of ripe red cherry, spiced plum, peppermint hints and just a tlick of creamy oak, drawing you straight in. On the palate it’s bold and layered - think loganberry, red currant, juicy blueberry, star anise and a dusting of dark chocolate, with cedar and rhubarb lurking in the background. Structured yet elegant, the tannins are firm but friendly, giving the wine shape while letting the fruit do the talking. Limited production, seriously hand-crafted and already stacking up gold medals, this shiraz is exactly the kind of wine you want for slow-cooked dinners, special occasions, or just because. It’s got intensity, finesse, and that unmistakable McLaren Vale flair and we love it very much. You will too.
You’d pay $100 full price.

1x Pertaringa Yeoman Shiraz 2023
Red — Shiraz
McLaren Vale — Australia
A South Australian icon, with a hefty 4.5 Vivino rating to boot. This awe-inspiring 2023 vintage is a powerful, multi-layered and full-bodied wine, heaving with fruit richness that is seemlessly intergrated with silky tannin. Not for the faint-hearted, but for lovers of gloriously intense shiraz! The fruit for this flagship shiraz is sourced from four blocks, ranging from 20 through to over 140 years old, and it is an absolute stunner each year it is made. Deep maroon purple in the glass with a highly aromatic and powerful bouquet of mixed spice, peppercorn, toasty oak, and a decadent nuttiness you can only get from super high-quality oak. Rich and intense blackberry, mulberry, and cocoa notes follow through from the nose to its highly sophisticated and incredible palate. Decant to drink now or cellar for the next 20-odd years and be gloriously rewarded.

1x Shanahans The Reaper Shiraz 2024
Red — Shiraz
Barossa — Australia
Sourced from a single old vineyard in the Greenock sub-region of the Barossa, each grape is individually hand-picked to ensure nothing but the best, juiciest, boldest fruit makes the cut. The super small batch is fermented and basket pressed into in oak barrels for 24 months of maturation. The result will leave you with little doubt that this is indeed a very fine wine. Concentrated fruit flavours in spades; blackberry, plum, black olive, dark chocolate and earthy notes. The decadence and outstanding structure of this shiraz carry through the palate and form a long, mouth-filling finish. Look, we see A LOT of shiraz come through the door at Vinomofo, and if this humble wine-professional's opinion means anything: this is red-hot shiraz.
You’d pay $90 full price.

1x Brokenwood Hunter Valley Shiraz 2022

Hunter Valley — Australia
This is Hunter Valley shiraz in its base form. If anyone does a good Hunter shiraz, it's Brokenwood. Medium-to-full-bodied, savoury-leaning and built on balance rather than brute force - exactly how the region likes it. It’s drinking beautifully now, but there’s no rush. Give it time and it’ll reward you with even more nuance and polish. A top vintage, serious vineyard credentials and a shiny gold medal to back it up - this is proper Hunter shiraz for people who actually like Hunter shiraz. Perfect with duck, veal, or a good wedge of cheese and zero distractions.

1x Wolf Blass Grey Label Shiraz 2016 (Cork)
Red — Shiraz
Barossa — Australia
There's a reason Wolf Blass are so popular... After a well-planned stint in the cellar, this wine is sitting at a beautiful stage of its life - full of those delicious rich fruits, pepper, spice and chocolate, all slowly developing more decadence with each day of bottle age under cork. Old-school, traditional, mind-blowing. It is no secret that we are big fans of McLaren Vale shiraz, so forgive us if we wax a little lyrical here and show a little bias. The grey label shiraz is an absolute stunner and exactly what we want when indulging in a shiraz from the 'Vale - plushness, with power, with richness, and at nearly a decade of age it is in an unbelieavable drinking window. A window that you can be happy to pop open at your next family bbq, the in-laws will mark you down as their favourite, Dad will be nudging you every 20 mins for a top up, Mum will be telling everyone how thoughtful you are. Now, your siblings might be a little jealous, but you, you will be chuffed. Chuffed with your purchase and the other five bottles you've got stashed away.
You’d pay $45 full price.

1x Hardy's HRB Shiraz 2020
Red — Shiraz
Australia — Australia
When you’ve been making wine in Australia since the 1800s, you tend to know a thing or two about shiraz. Hardys built their name on bold thinking and even bolder drinking reds, and this bottle is a cracking reminder of why they’re still a household name all these years later. Oh, and the price will genuinely knock your socks off! It’s shiraz through and through, that's undeniable. Completely opaque in the glass, it opens with a rush of mulberry, blueberry and ripe plum, with a dusting of spice and a little milk-chocolate richness swirling around behind it. There’s a hint of white pepper for good measure, just to keep things lively. The palate follows the same script but really takes things up a gear. Tannins are silky but present, giving it proper structure without turning it into a chew-fest. A touch of French oak rounds things out and stretches the finish nicely. But that's not the best bit... For a wine with this kind of pedigree and punch, the price is borderline ridiculous. It tastes exactly like good shiraz should - generous fruit, savoury detail, tidy structure - and it’ll happily cellar for five to ten years if you’ve got the patience.
You’d pay $35 full price.
