Why do we love this case?
Here, we bring you the best of the best. These are the wines that our producers have loved so dearly that they've kept a few behind at the cellar for their future selves (and, some lucky customers who might get the winemakers on a good day). We've had to do some really sweet talking, a little bit of begging, and a lot of string-pulling to curate this case. Presenting: the Aged. Shiraz. Selection. It feels good to say it, and even better to drink it
1x Devitt & Moore Captain D. Bruce Shiraz 2017
Red — Shiraz
Barossa — Australia
Deep, dark ripe fruit dazzles to begin, but then the nuance of age makes itself known, adding another element to this fantastic wine. A swarm of brambly, developed fruit is framed by punchy tannin and well integrated acidity. Seven years cellar time has allowed some fruit leather and umami to enter the flavour profile, but they're only there as a suggestion of what this wine might do over the next decade - right now its all about the fruit - luscious and complex and packing a genuine, no-holds-barred bit of punch. Chocolate, tobacco, pepper, spice – everything nice. Personally I'm torn: I would love to see what this wine looks like in the back half of the 2030s, but I know I'll drink my modest allocation by the end of the month.

1x Parous Stonehouse Shiraz 2019
Red — Shiraz
McLaren Vale — Australia
There's nothing you won't adore about this beauty. All the juicy, chocolate notes of McLaren Vale shiraz, with a bit of rum n' raisin spiciness bringing some real game. An old school style from a mordern McLaren Vale winemaker.
Made by the grape master Matt Head (who you might also know from the cult favourite Big Easy Radio) whose creative and level-headed approach to life results in wines with spirit and soul. This parcel has been safeguarded under the Parous label, just waiting for its time and loving home to go to. It must be your lucky day mofo, because they've found it with you. It's powerful, but not overwhelming; the perfect choice to keep you entertained from weeknights to the weekend.

1x Orlando Centenary Hill Shiraz 2014
Red — Shiraz
Barossa — Australia
When it comes to Barossa shiraz, few names carry the same weight as this crew - and this shiraz right here is their flagship - a wine that reflects both the legacy of the region and the timeless beauty of old-vine fruit. And how good's the timing!? This thing is absolutely singing right now, there's plenty of life left, but it's drinking so well now - we're getting stuck in!Sourced exclusively from old vine blocks in the Southern Barossa, these low-yielding vines produce tiny, concentrated berries bursting with flavour. The result is a shiraz that captures everything we love about the Barossa: richness, intensity, and a savoury depth that only old vines can deliver. On the nose, it’s classic Barossa in full voice: dark chocolate, spice and savoury earth, lifted by plum and blackberry fruit. Take a sip and it starts plush and generous, a rush of ripe dark berries, before shifting into more complex territory - iodine, peat smoke, roasted spice, even a touch of leather. The tannins are ripe and smooth, the acidity perfectly pitched, and the oak just hums in the background. The finish is long, elegant, and beautifully balanced. This is the kind of shiraz that works now with something rich and slow-cooked - we're thinking beef cheeks or lamb shoulder - but it’s also built with the bones to go another 3-5+ years in the cellar. Barossa at its best: bold, detailed and damn satisfying.

1x Geoff Merrill Pimpala Vineyards Shiraz 2017
Red — Shiraz
McLaren Vale — Australia
This is single-vineyard shiraz, (personally) barrel selected from the reserve range. Not to be confused with Geoff Merrill’s ‘Pimpala Road’ range, this Pimpala Vineyard shiraz is genuinely on a whole new level. Don't miss out on this, wonderful stuff. This has spent no less than 20 months in French and American oak barrels, plus over three years in the cellar to let all its powerful fruit and decadent oak flavour all meld together. It’s like liquid black chocolate cake, with the Vale’s dark chocolate and heady spice flavours oozing head-on into dark cherry, blackcurrant leaf and roasted coconut. We’re always happy to see Geoff’s wines in the warehouse, and even happier to see them in our glass.
You’d pay $65 full price.

1x Handpicked Regional Series Shiraz 2016
Red — Shiraz
Barossa — Australia
A wine company, unlike any other. Think of them more as a team of grape nomads of the wine industry, travelling the best vineyards in search of vinous enlightenment and the holy grail of grape juice. On the 2016 trip they’ve come home with a rare shiraz from only the best vineyards - localised in the beautiful Barossa. Better unpack your bags and settle in, this one's got legs. Hailing from a hyper-focussed selection of only the very best fruit in the numerous sub-regions of the Barossa, this is a powerful and impressive shiraz. Made all the more impressive by the fact that there's only a tiny amount on offer. With lashings of rich, ripe fruit and a subtle earthy complexity, this explorer is full of spicy berries and just a hint of dark chocolate. Scrumptious shiraz has never travelled so well. Happy days! The freedom offered only to those dedicated enough to navigate their way in wine, knowing exactly what they are looking for is on full display here. Not limited by region or style, these legends grab the best fruit they can, for their exact purpose. Lucky for us that purpose is making really, really, really good wine.
You’d pay $35 full price.
