2x Merite The Caves Shiraz 2024
Red — Shiraz
Wrattonbully — Australia
If you're a fan of Barossa shiraz or even bigger styles of McLaren Vale shiraz, you're going to absolutely love this wine. This was built to honour the climate and terroir of one of Australia's most-highly-rated shiraz regions – Wrattonbully. Be warned: This is not for the faint of heart... Specifically crafted to showcase the 'Cavelands' sub-region with its layers of Terra Rossa soils, limestone caves, pristine waters and maritime climate that makes this place so bloody special. Big, bold, full-bodied and loaded with dark fruits. This is an intense, fruit-driven beast with abundant juicy red fruit flavours and a rich, round palate that doesn't mess around. Lingering dark fruits, pepper spice and overt oak complete the picture, delivering a balanced and seriously impressive finish. Made for carnivores who like their reds powerful and their meals substantial. Any cut of meat you choose to throw at it – ribeye, lamb chops, slow-cooked beef – this shiraz will be its best mate.
You’d pay $45 full price.

Tasting Notes
2x Hollick Red Ridge Cabernet Sauvignon 2021
Red — Cabernet Sauvignon
Coonawarra — Australia
This is jam packed full of black and red fruit - currants and raspberries mix with bramble and plums. The earthy and greener notes chime in late, backing up that initial fruit with some savoury depth. Classic Coonawarra - completely delicious. Estate fruit from the famed Hollick vineyards in Coonawarra, this is cab sauv like Aussies know and love. Certainly, a little bit of age behind this number has helped to fill out the mid palate, making it rich and dense with threads of fennel and mint throughout. It's very hard not to enjoy this wine - and we're speaking from experience.

2x First Drop The Matador Grenache 2022
Red — Grenache
Barossa — Australia
A bold and charismatic red that doesn’t tiptoe onto the palate - it kicks down the door and dives head first. This Barossa grenache is all action: juicy strawberries, ripe cherries and a rush of spicy raspberry that hits with astonishing power. Sourced from Ebenezer in the northern Barossa, where old vines grow in deep red clay at 300m elevation, this is pure, high-country Grenache with guts. The mouthfeel is plush and dramatic, with a savoury thread tying it all together. This is a wine you grab by the horns, and just try to hang on!
You’d pay $30 full price.

2x Aramis White Label Shiraz 2022
Red — Shiraz
McLaren Vale — Australia
This little beauty is punching above its weight and then some. From an enviably located vineyard whose fruit is in high demand from very prestigious Vale producers, this small batch producer holds back some parcels to craft this delicious drop. Every single review on this wine mentions value for money, and they're talking full rrp when they do, so this is an epic deal here. It walks a perfectly balanced line between opulent and elegant, earthy and fruit-forward, intenisty and complexity.
You’d pay $25 full price.

2x Thistledown Wild & Wilder 'Pugilist' Cabernet Sauvignon 2022
Red — Cabernet Sauvignon
Langhorne Creek — Australia
This pan-South Aussie producer is fast becoming a mofo favourite across their delicious red and white wines. They seek out parcels of quality grapes in Barossa, McLaren and in this case the maritime region of Langhorne Creek. Their wines are made to a high-standard across the range and are reliably delicious. This cabernet shows off a perfumed nose of flowers, juicy plums and dried herbs, followed by a medium-bodied, ripe and textured palate. There’s a gentle earthiness in the wine that is wrapped in blackberries and a lingering olive tapenade finish.
You’d pay $22 full price.
