2x Starling Shiraz 2020
Red — Shiraz
Barossa — Australia
Like a good book, wine is not all about what’s on the cover. But we have to say, when you’re getting great vino in some super sleek packaging, it’s a big bonus. This is the Barossa classic with a modern edge. Fruit-driven and rich, it hits every corner of your palate with pleasing intensity. The oak-imparted tannins make for a ripper time with some charred meat or veg, perfect for that easy weeknight in.
You’d pay $30 full price.

2x Brand & Sons 'Coonawarra Bandits' Cabernet Shiraz 2020
Red — Cabernet Blend
Coonawarra — Australia
Coonawarra cabernet is a beauty of a thing on its own, but add a dash of shiraz in there and you kick the wine into rich, dense overdrive. There's no denying that Sam Brand knows the reigns of the wine game, you can guarantee high quality from every drop that carries the Brand & Sons name. This cab shiraz blend is a melting pot of blue and black fruits, with a kick of baking spice and coconut to give this the full satisfaction tick. 2x Thistledown Wild & Wilder 'Pugilist' Cabernet Sauvignon 2021
Red — Cabernet Sauvignon
Langhorne Creek — Australia
This pan-South Aussie producer is fast becoming a mofo favourite across their delicious red and white wines. They seek out parcels of quality grapes in Barossa, McLaren and in this case the maritime region of Langhorne Creek. Their wines are made to a high-standard across the range and are reliably delicious. This cabernet shows off a perfumed nose of flowers, juicy plums and dried herbs, followed by a medium-bodied, ripe and textured palate. There’s a gentle earthiness in the wine that is wrapped in blackberries and a lingering olive tapenade finish.
You’d pay $22 full price.

2x Farmer's Leap Random Shot Chardonnay 2023
White — Chardonnay
Padthaway — Australia
This chardonnay is peachy, flinty, rounded and ready for a good time, packing all kinds of punches in a sensationally smashable outfit.
Padthaway is undoubtedly an underdog region. Not for lack of quality or passion, which comes in bucketloads here. Head inland to find this little gem of an area where the limestone and sandy soils cover the landscape: the beating heart of some outstanding value wines. Consider yourself warned, mofo: deals like this should not be taken for granted.

2x Reschke Bull Trader Sauvignon Blanc 2022
White — Sauvignon Blanc
Coonawarra — Australia
Coonawarra sauv blanc? Is that a thing? Turns out it is and it should be. Coonawarra is technically a cool climate region, allowing for slower ripening and development of flavour. That’s pretty damn perfect for sauv blanc. Reschke know how to make great wines, and this is just another feather in their cap: super fragrant with lemon, lime and white peach. There’s passionfruit and nectarine on the palate with a bit of texture and crisp acidity to finish. It’s savvy bee through and through, we guarantee a good time with this on the table.
You’d pay $25 full price.

2x Twin Valleys Pinot Grigio 2023
White — Pinot Grigio
King Valley — Australia
Italy’s leading grape varieties have an established home in the King Valley, including the ever-popular pinot grigio. This example of the grape is bright with citrus and pear on the nose and freshness from the nose to the palate with a crisp, mineral finish. When given more time to develop in the glass, the wine shares a greater depth to its expression. Ripe red apple, nashi pear, and hints of sherbet on the nose. From a weekend BBQ to a plate of spaghetti marinara over candlelight, it’s a flexible food wine that is sure to please.
