Why do we love this case?

We all know how hot chardonnay is right now. From the modern and zippy to the all-out nostalgic butterball, chardy can do it all. But no matter what style you prefer, good chardonnay always has that air of something special about it. We’ve got a range of regions, styles and ages covered. Happy exploring!

Included in this case:

1x Bradley Hutton Wines Wildberry Chardonnay 2021

White — Chardonnay

Margaret River — Australia

"Last time I was in Margs, I caught up with Brad in the winery and did some early tasting of this. Great vintage, skilled winemaker, impeccable fruit source. What else do you need? So we committed to bringing it in once bottled and the time has finally come. Brad grew up amongst the vines as part of the family behind the famed Gralyn Estate. He knows Margaret River through and through, sourcing the fruit here from one of the best vineyards in the Wilyabrup sub-region The wine's flinty and fruity, minerally and bright, luscious and tense all at the same time. Pineapple and grapefruit citrus abound, there’s a creamy undertone and the oak is present but not intrusive. In a few years, you can claim to be one of the few who tasted an early vintage of a wine that will sit amongst Margaret River’s most revered chardonnay." – Ben

1x Sew & Sew Contour Chardonnay 2018

White — Chardonnay

Adelaide Hills — Australia

Boy do we love Adelaide Hills chardonnay. Perhaps Australia’s answer to Burgundy whites, but with a little more pizazz and funk that is so classically Aussie. This vineyard that lends it fruit to this chardy is nestled on the borderline of McLaren Vale and Adelaide Hills in the Kuitpo sub-region. Graced with the best of both climates: high altitude for freshness, and the direct ocean influence that makes for such elegant, refined styles. This tiny producer is truly the one that could, as shown by this pristine drop that still refuses to lose focus nearly five years later. Showing freshness and vitality, graced with French oak for a touch of class- think flinty, creamy & spicy- there’s nothing you can’t desire about this wine.

You’d pay $45 full price.

1x Knee Deep Birdhouse Chardonnay 2021

White — Chardonnay

Margaret River — Australia

It certainly hasn’t been easy getting our hands on Margaret River chardonnay recently. The last couple of vintages have seen lower yields (yet incredible quality of fruit) and demand has been soaring. So no need to express any surprise at our excitement at bringing in this beauty from the 2021 vintage. It’s fresh, juicy and generous, showing balance between the classic Margs lime/nectarine notes and some spice and nuttiness from 10 months in French oak. Lees stirring was also utilised to build texture and depth on the palate, making for a nice, full chardy with vibrant acidity to finish. Don’t let this pass you by as it’ll do what Margs chardy does and fly out the door.

You’d pay $45 full price.

1x Miceli Olivia's Chardonnay 2018

White — Chardonnay

Mornington Peninsula — Australia

A very impressive chardonnay, that gets the ‘full works’ from a winemaker who doesn’t shy away from stirring intensity into the wine. From toasty oak to 100% malo’ (ie: butter and texture) the complex flavours here have only happened with maximum love and attention. Peach, melon, butterscotch... this is sumptuous chardonnay, with a full body that tucks in nicely with a racy acidity. We’ve managed to get the last few cases from the winery of this white wine wonder, so don’t dilly dally, mofos.

You’d pay $26 full price.

1x Yarraloch Single Vineyard Chardonnay 2019

White — Chardonnay

Yarra Valley — Australia

Sorry to get all sentimental, but just quietly, Yarra chardonnay is like sipping a taste of home. All you need is a kilo of prawns to peel on the patio shaded by the sunshine and a chilled bottle of this. That’s the definition of a good Aussie summer. With a few years behind this chardy, it’s now gained a little weight and roundness and excitingly, is drinking exactly how we like it. Buttered popcorn on the nose, it’s creamy with enough grapefruit and nougat flavour to put you in your happy place. So, if you want to be sipping this jubilant juice in its prime window, don’t wait until the next vintage comes around. Rich and ready now.

You’d pay $40 full price.

1x Nannup Ridge Chardonnay 2018

White — Chardonnay

Western Australia — Australia

Full bodied chardonnay with persistent acidity from a Five Star Halliday rated winery? We can’t say no. The fruit comes off a small parcel of land sitting over granite soils just inland of iconic Margaret River. 2018 was a bumper growing season for the region - long, dry days for fruit development and cool nights to lock in acidity and freshness. Taste lemon curd and burnt meringue leading into rich stone fruit, ripe citrus, and rocky minerality. This is one for the chardy classicists - a knockout wine from a knockout vintage.

You’d pay $26 full price.
