1x Credaro Kinship Chardonnay 2023
White — Chardonnay
Margaret River — Australia
This is a wine indicative of careful, considered winemaking by generational vintners. Sourced from a few vineyards across Margs, the whole bunch pressed fruit was naturally fermented with wild yeasts and remained completely unfined. Additionally, no malo was allowed to occur further preserving the vibrancy of the fruit. Monthly lees stirring and nine months maturation in French oak (25% new) adding depth of flavour and balance to the classic Margaret River acidity present. The elegant use of oak also adds delicate spice and brioche notes to the concentrated ripe stonefruit and citrus profile.

1x Twin Valleys Reserve Chardonnay 2023
White — Chardonnay
King Valley — Australia
Hail to the King! The king of white wine grapes, that is. True to it's Alpine home, this greets you with a swirl of citrus and stone fruit. There's a creamy element, too - something like peach cobbler or apricot yoghurt. Deftly striking a balance between richness and freshness, between full-fruited palate weight and fresh, energetic acidity. A delightful wine to say the least - this is versatile and friendly High Country chardy at it's best. Drink or hold.

1x Byron & Harold Gravity Black Chardonnay 2023
White — Chardonnay
Margaret River — Australia
A little rich and a little creamy. A powerful citrus core framed by riper tropical nuance. This is the Margaret River chardy we've been hangin' out for. The wine is lead by a fleshy lemon and lemon drop confectionary citrus drive. There is genuine power and presence in that bright acid core. Some tropical notes of ripe melon and charred pineapple play on the edges, with desiccated coconut and vanilla offering further complexity. Fresh cream and star anise aromatics reveal themselves late in the piece once the wine has had a moment to open up a little. The finish persists longer than you think it will, exciting and surprising long after you've set the glass down. Drinking brilliantly now, but don't be afraid to set a few down for up to a decade - you'll be handsomely rewarded for your patience.

1x Coombe Yarra Valley Estate Chardonnay 2023
White — Chardonnay
Yarra Valley — Australia
Unmistakably Yarra Valley, fresh and fragrant fruit with an underlying seriousness brought on by thoughtful winemaking and high quality French oak barrels. An intensely varietal and regional chardy that demands respect and deserves it too. This iconic producer pride themselves on the chardonnay they let out into the world, they take real care with this wine from go to whoa. From the first budding in the vineyard to the final bottling in the winery 10 months later, this has been watched over and genuinely looked after. The final result is a generous yet elegant wine giving white peach, lemon curd and even a touch of fresh cream. The concentrated palate has a savoury nuttiness, typical for the Yarra, and a wonderful texture building to a seriously classy finish. Oysters anyone?

1x Middle Earth Wines Chardonnay 2020
White — Chardonnay
Nelson — New Zealand
All the way over at New Zealand’s Middle Earth, we find an incredible and sustainable winery creating chardonnay with as much love and attention as their famous pinot noirs. Grilled chestnuts lead the aromas, with other characters like almond, hazelnut and buttered toast. The fruit flavours deliver like freshly squeezed juice from your local hawker. From Nelson, the sunniest region in NZ - chardonnay made in this rich, quality style, is also super fresh. Great wines over here - we just love Middle Earth!

1x Taltarni Estate Chardonnay 2023
White — Chardonnay
Pyrenees — Australia
Creamy, textured, shapely on the palate - that's the quality of the oak on show. There is some beeswax-y, toasty nuance, too. The main act, though, is the excellent fruit quality on show. Green apple, winter pear, some papaya, grapefruit, and whole citrus - the complexity of the fruit pulls you deeper into the wine, inviting and delighting the senses. The finish is marked by precise acidity and palate richness, both in perfect step with one another. This is 2023 vintage that is drinking well now, but it will reward your patience.
