2x Peter Drayton Wildstreak Chardonnay 2023
White — Chardonnay
Hunter Valley — Australia
Palate weight reigns supreme - Australian palates demand it, Australian producers deliver it. The creamy, nutty mid-palate of this wine is to die for. Vanilla, cashew butter, roasted marshmallow - the whole shebang. The fruit is pulpy and ripe and brilliantly balanced with the brightness of the acid. A well crafted wine from a Hunter icon; textured, full, complex, complete.
You’d pay $40 full price.

2x Squitchy Lane Estate Chardonnay 2020
White — Chardonnay
Yarra Valley — Australia
An exciting little wine to be sure. Delightfully satisfying palate breadth filled with citrus at its centre. There is further fruit complexity on offer, too - green apple and pear, guava, grapefruit, a smidge of kiwi in the at-time puckering acidity. This has had four years hang time in the cellar, and it will go on, too. I am going to tuck a few bottles in the sock draw - that peppy acid coupled with the weight of the wine makes me think this could surprise us in its ageability.
You’d pay $33 full price.

2x Chapman Grove Reserve Chardonnay 2017
White — Chardonnay
Margaret River — Australia
A new-to-us chardonnay from the cellar. This ticks all the Margs chardy boxes; it's nutty, creamy, a little woody and a lot citrusy. Tropical fruit richness gives the wine a bit of palate breadth, and classic varietal acidity gives it line drive. Delicious stuff.
You’d pay $32 full price.

2x Sorby Adams Handcrafted Chardonnay 2022
White — Chardonnay
Adelaide — Australia
Sorby Adams is a producer whose reds we have adored, and as we dabble into some whites we're continually astounded by how good his wines are. Having been head winemaker at Yalumba for 20 years, he certainly know how to make top quality vino. This chardy is genuinely unbelievable value for money: texturally it flows on the palate like a plush peach. Time on lees has meant that it has a yoghurty, creamy consistency and the finish is ever so delightful. I'm really damn excited about this wine, and I reckon you will be too mofo.
You’d pay $30 full price.

2x Mount Avoca Daly's Cottage Chardonnay 2023
White — Chardonnay
Pyrenees — Australia
The Pyrenees is a bit of an unsung hero for us here at the 'Fo. This is a wine that typifies what the region can do in the 'easy drinking' category - ripe, developed fruit meets some subtle oak influence and cool climate acidity to produce what is an even-keeled, vibrant expression of chardonnay. A beautiful little wine that will go wonderfully with seafood, a white sauce pasta, or – my choice – something to sip on while you cook the BBQ.
You’d pay $30 full price.

2x Farmer's Leap Random Shot Chardonnay 2023
White — Chardonnay
Padthaway — Australia
This chardonnay is peachy, flinty, rounded and ready for a good time, packing all kinds of punches in a sensationally smashable outfit.
Padthaway is undoubtedly an underdog region. Not for lack of quality or passion, which comes in bucketloads here. Head inland to find this little gem of an area where the limestone and sandy soils cover the landscape: the beating heart of some outstanding value wines. Consider yourself warned, mofo: deals like this should not be taken for granted.
You’d pay $22 full price.
