Why do we love this case?
Here, we bring you the best of the best. These are the wines that our producers have loved so dearly that they've kept a few behind at the cellar for their future selves (and, some lucky customers who might get the winemakers on a good day). We've had to do some really sweet talking, a little bit of begging, and a lot of string-pulling to curate this case. Presenting: the Aged. Shiraz. Selection. It feels good to say it, and even better to drink it
1x Quin Wines Barossa Valley Shiraz 2014
Red — Shiraz
Barossa — Australia
This is why people fall in love with the Barossa. The 2014 Quin Shiraz hails from the Cambourne vineyard in Seppeltsfield, one of the most revered pockets of the region. Nestled along Greenock Creek, the vineyard’s red clay-loam soils over limestone give this wine its firm backbone and powerful structure.
Shiraz from three distinct parcels within the 7-hectare property was blended to deliver complexity, balance and expression. After a decade in bottle, it’s stepped into its prime: blackberries and plums still carry their vibrancy, but now accompanied by savoury spice, soft leather, and earthy depth. The tannins have melted into silky harmony, and the whole thing finishes long, warm and deeply satisfying.

1x Gemtree Wines Ernest Allen Shiraz 2018
Red — Shiraz
McLaren Vale — Australia
James Halliday doesn't hand out 95 points willy-nilly. So when he does, we pay attention. What we have here is a wine of genuine class that showcases what happens when 20-120 year old vines meet sophisticated winemaking and 18 months of careful French oak maturation. This is shiraz artistry in its purest form. Dark purple and black fruits flow like liquid velvet, while tannins and oak play perfect supporting roles - present but never overwhelming the star of the show. The complex aromatic profile unfolds in waves: intense liquorice and blackberry, lifted by cinnamon and cherry liqueur, finished with rich oaky nuances that add sophistication without stealing the spotlight. Ripe, yet punchy, with soft tannins and a pleasing finish that lingers long after the glass is empty. This 2018 showcases a dense and focused palate where sweet blackcurrant flavours are tightly wound, creating an elegant and integrated finish that defines what premium shiraz should be. Absolutely ripping from now through 2033. That's 15 years of drinking pleasure from vines that have been perfecting their craft for over a century.

1x Geoff Merrill Mount Hurtle Shiraz 2017
Red — Shiraz
McLaren Vale — Australia
There's a bit of a story to this one. Before Geoff Merrill purchased his winery, it was simply known as 'Mount Hurtle' , this is how he explains the decision, "When I purchased the Mount Hurtle winery in 1985 it was to preserve a small piece of Australia’s winemaking history", that brings us to this wine. This wine is that throwback, this wine is that small piece of winemaking history. Exceedingly smooth, age has softened and rounded this beauty whilst maintaining a wonderful acid line and grippy tannins - it's classic Geoff Merrill, classic McLaren Vale, it's just a classic Australian shiraz.

1x Mino & Co Wines Little William Heathcote Shiraz 2017
Red — Shiraz
Heathcote — Australia
This is Heathcote shiraz in trademark style - bold yet refined, powerful yet balanced. Perfect for anyone who loves their reds smooth, textural, and ready to impress at the table. Extremely regional, Heathcote fans should NOT let this one pass them by. Heathcote has long been a benchmark for shiraz in Australia, and this single-vineyard release captures everything the region does best - with the added bonus of a little age to smooth out the edges. Perfumed and layered, the nose runs from red and black fruits to floral lift, ripe briar, and savoury hints of tar and gunflint. The palate is seamless, rich without being heavy, carrying pristine fruit through a frame of tightly woven tannins. Five-plus years in bottle have softened and integrated everything, making it plush, silky, and a joy to drink right now.

1x Hedonist Shiraz 2018
Red — Shiraz
McLaren Vale — Australia
Utterly seamless. Raspberry, red plum and gentle spice roll over the palate, wrapped in silky tannins and a savoury edge that lingers. It’s big and structured yet nuanced, with texture and tannin in all the right places. This is McLaren Vale shiraz at its most expressive, and so full of life. An absolute cracker. Grown on certified organic and biodynamic vines in the foothills of Willunga, this 2018 shiraz is a wine of purity, balance, and quiet confidence. A cooler, wetter season gave the vines exactly what they needed, producing fruit with beautiful natural acidity and depth of flavour. The winemaking was fairly hands-off and gentle - as it tends to be in ripper years like 2018 - open-top ferments, wild malolactic, and 12 months in seasoned French oak. No fining, no fluff, just honest winemaking from a great vintage. All together, a marvellously moreish McLaren Vale banger!
You’d pay $30 full price.
