Why do we love this case?
Here, we bring you the best of the best. These are the wines that our producers have loved so dearly that they've kept a few behind at the cellar for their future selves (and, some lucky customers who might get the winemakers on a good day). We've had to do some really sweet talking, a little bit of begging, and a lot of string-pulling to curate this case. Presenting: the Aged. Shiraz. Selection. It feels good to say it, and even better to drink it
1x Kelly's Promise Reserve Shiraz 2017
Red — Shiraz
McLaren Vale — Australia
This is what museum release wines are all about. In its youth this was an extremely muscular and powerful wine, through the aging process the intensity and structure have stood the test of time but the years have softened this gorgeous drop and allowed the fruit, oak, tannin and acid to get in line and start pulling in the same direction. We now have an harmonious, but never-the-less commanding, wine with considerable palate weight and silky mouthfeel punctuated by black fruit, cassis, violets and leather. There's a special kind of assertive elegance at play that will carry this wine through until at least 2033.

1x Golden Amrita Shiraz 2018
Red — Shiraz
Barossa — Australia
With juice from the classic Greenock Vineyard, the winemaker (and Master of Wine), specially selects a tiny portion of the best barrels to create a smooth but gutsy shiraz with astounding regional expressivity.
A richly textured and full-bodied wine designed to drink beautifully in its youth but has the structure and fruit concentration to age for a further 10 years. Pure black and red fruit, vibrant acidic structure and pillowy, fine-grained tannins; all this coupled with a healthy maturation in brand new American oak barrels create a chocolatey, silky and wholly mouth-filling wine. Throw in a few years of age and you've got a well-integrated, classically Barossa shiraz with a long life ahead of it. Drinking now? Decant for 30 minutes for best results!
You’d pay $100 full price.

1x Parous Stonehouse Shiraz 2019
Red — Shiraz
McLaren Vale — Australia
There's nothing you won't adore about this beauty. All the juicy, chocolate notes of McLaren Vale shiraz, with a bit of rum n' raisin spiciness bringing some real game. An old school style from a mordern McLaren Vale winemaker.
Made by the grape master Matt Head (who you might also know from the cult favourite Big Easy Radio) whose creative and level-headed approach to life results in wines with spirit and soul. This parcel has been safeguarded under the Parous label, just waiting for its time and loving home to go to. It must be your lucky day mofo, because they've found it with you. It's powerful, but not overwhelming; the perfect choice to keep you entertained from weeknights to the weekend.

1x Mitchell Wines McNicol Shiraz 2010
Red — Shiraz
Clare Valley — Australia
This wine was built to age, right from the very start - specific rows, of specific vineyards, in specific micro-climates, are chosen for their aging potential. The result is a wine, produced in 2010, that was always intended to be enjoyed now, some 15+ years later. The depth of flavour and concentration of fruit is outstanding, but there's so much more to this wine. Remarkably smooth yet sternly structured, the lively acidity and tannin have not been lost time here, in fact, this wine has lost nothing to time, only added complexity. The classic aged notes of leather and tobacco only act to enhance and contextualise the dark, mulled fruit and youthful acid. This wine looks young and old at the same time, in the best possible way. There's a reason that this producer was one of the original pioneers of the screw cap - it allows them to create wines that age like THIS! Wow!

1x Greenock Estate Angas King A7 McLaren Vale Shiraz 2016
Red — Shiraz
McLaren Vale — Australia
A straight-up attention grabber. This is Australian shiraz. There’s serious depth here - blackcurrant, plum, blueberry and dark chocolate, all intertwined with layers of savoury mocha, graphite, roast meat and earth. Herbaceous flickers of fresh sage and mint lift the nose, while 18 months in French oak gives it polish and poise without overshadowing the fruit. This wine is a part of a series that pays homage to the heritage of South Australian winemaking, while delivering the kind of rich, finely-crafted red that Aussie shiraz lovers go wild for. Created using traditional methods, open fermentation, basket pressing, this is classic McLaren Vale shiraz with a focus on regionality. Fine, satiny tannins, impressive length, and the sort of seamless structure that suggests it’ll age beautifully for 15–20 years. That said, it’s drinking so well now, you might not want to wait.
You’d pay $65 full price.
