Why do we love this case?
Here, we bring you the best of the best. These are the wines that our producers have loved so dearly that they've kept a few behind at the cellar for their future selves (and, some lucky customers who might get the winemakers on a good day). We've had to do some really sweet talking, a little bit of begging, and a lot of string-pulling to curate this case. Presenting: the Aged. Shiraz. Selection. It feels good to say it, and even better to drink it.
1x Ulithorne Frux Frugis Shiraz 2018
Red — Shiraz
McLaren Vale — Australia
Welcome to this producer’s flagship wine. All parents say they don’t have a favourite child, but we’re pretty sure this would be the one for our star McLaren Vale producer. Picking the premium, low-yielding fruit from their vineyards, they’ve succeeded in creating a magnificently concentrated wine. There’s some parcels of fruit that go into American oak, and some in French. Some new and some old. It hits all the notes and comes together in a symphony of black and blue fruits. C’mon, those scores from the experts really speak for themselves on this one. But if we were to give you a short review from our team, it’d be this: don’t pass on the opportunity to get this in your glass.

1x Maxwell Wines Eight Bells Shiraz 2015
Red — Shiraz
McLaren Vale — Australia
All the upfront dark fruit and chocolatey goodness you'd expect from the region, think blackberries and blueberries with a beautifully perfumed nose of violets and chocolate. A concentrated, pure fruited wine that's been matured for 25 months in French and American oak then let age in the bottle for 7 years. 95pts from Halliday. Pretty much what McLaren Vale shiraz is all about.
You’d pay $45 full price.

1x Lost Wolf Shiraz 2017
Red — Shiraz
Barossa Valley — Australia
This tiny producer knows quality tenfold. A hundred-fold. A thousand-fold. Seriously, this is unbelievably good. When people talk about quintessential Barossa shiraz, this is what they’re thinking about. Ripe, jubey plums mingle with cocoa and sweet vanilla amidst supple tannins. The kind of wine that coats your palate and sticks around like a good friend. We’d say to save this one for special occasions, but realistically this will make any occasion special.

Padthaway — Australia
For those wine lovers who think ‘big is beautiful’, this is the shiraz you’re looking for! From an absolute mofo fave, and leading South Aussie shiraz producer, comes a perfectly aged wine that offers bang-for-your-buck and then some. Ripe plum and blackberry fruit is beautifully integrated with supportive vanillan oak on the nose. The palate is plush and voluptuous - all juicy fruit and textured with gentle tannins and depth of flavour that adds plenty of length. Juicy South Aussie shiraz that is just hitting it straps.
