1x St Johns Brook Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2019

Red — Cabernet Sauvignon

Margaret River — Australia

This is premium cabernet that's playing all the hits; cassis, black cherry, bramble, pink and purple flowers and a medicinal quality to boot. The fruit is dense and driving and sitting smack dab in the centre of the wine. Those fruit characteristics are wrapped neatly in cedar and tree bark notes. Uber stylish, eternally elegant - St Johns Brook know how to do premo cab sauv, and we're hoping we see a lot more of their wines coming through our doors (because we've very nearly drunk them all to ourselves).

You'd pay $60 full price.

1x Reschke RSR Cabernet Sauvignon 2014

Red — Cabernet Sauvignon

Coonawarra — Australia

We’ve now seen two vintages of this ripper deal fly out the door. For those in the know, this wine never disappoints upon pulling the cork. This cellar release may have eight years of development behind it, but give it a taste and you’ll see that it is only starting to touch its prime drinking window. This wine is usually exclusive to the producer’s database, but somehow our charming wine buyers have managed to get some for the site. Each glass of this cabernet is sure to be excellent and intriguing. The once boisterous tannins have now mellowed on the silky palate, and fruit is joined by herbaceous and somewhat meaty notes. There’s still classic cabernet cassis and blackberry, which is accompanied by rosemary, thyme and a long and savoury finish. Be quick, mofo, ‘cos this wine has been known to fly quick!

You'd pay $75 full price.

1x School House Cabernet Sauvignon 2013

Red — Cabernet Sauvignon

Coonawarra — Australia

We all know that fine Coonawarra cabernet ages extremely well. Like George Clooney or Brad Pitt well. We’ve had the 2010 from this producer, and now they’ve offered us the 2013 we did not hesitate to take the opportunity. This is one of our go-to Coonawarra producers, so getting the wine should really be a no-brainer. It’s still plenty powerful, but age has softened the edges a touch to give it a bit more gravitas. Blackberry and mulberry, roasted nuts and black olive, all in perfect harmony. This is great stuff that will prove to be worthy of the A-list for years to come.

You'd pay $80 full price.

1x Wills Domain Eightfold Cabernet Sauvignon 2021

Red — Cabernet Sauvignon

Margaret River — Australia

One of our go-to Margaret River producers has come up with the goods again! We love everything they do with cabernet and are always yearning for more. It’s super smooth, stylishly elegant and quite lifted on the nose with aromas of cherries and plums. Like all good Margs cab, it also has those herbal and spicy elements interlaced throughout. As things went so well in the vineyard in 2021, the need wasn’t there to drown the wine in oak. It’s there, but it’s quite subtle. The fruit speaks for itself and it is oh so eloquent.

You'd pay $45 full price.

1x Byron & Harold Gravity Black Cabernet Sauvignon 2021

Red — Cabernet Sauvignon

Margaret River — Australia

Blackcurrant, ripe plum, and hints of cedar mingling with earthiness and vibrant fruit. On the palate, layers of blackberry, dark cherry, and cassis interlace seamlessly, supported by structured tannins. Dark chocolate and subtle oak add complexity to the long, lingering finish. This wine embodies the hallmark Margaret River style, showcasing a perfect harmony of richness, balance, and the region's distinct terroir.

1x Kilikanoon Golden Hillside Cabernet Sauvignon 2020

Red — Cabernet Sauvignon

Clare Valley — Australia

“I first came across Kilikanoon Wines in my early twenties - I was a huge Riesling fan and they made a cracker so I fell in love early and the value is unbelievable. The perfect bottle to crack on a Friday night to kick off your weekend. Get home, pour yourself a glass, start cooking and hope there’s some left by the time you’re done. We’ve bought the Golden Hillside for years now, and it just keeps getting better and better. ”– Justin Dry, Co-Founder, Vinomofo

Frequently Asked Questions

This curated pack showcases cabernet sauvignon's incredible versatility across different Australian regions and vintages, from 2013 to 2021. Each wine represents a unique terroir expression and winemaking philosophy, allowing you to explore how the same grape variety can produce dramatically different flavour profiles. It's like having a masterclass in cabernet sauvignon diversity delivered to your door, with wines ranging from museum releases to contemporary expressions.

The vintage spread from 2013 to 2021 is intentional, demonstrating how cabernet sauvignon evolves with age and responds to different seasonal conditions. Older vintages like the 2013 School House will show more developed tertiary flavours with integrated tannins, while newer releases like the 2021 wines will display vibrant primary fruit characters. This range allows you to taste the same variety at different stages of its evolution, highlighting cabernet's exceptional ageing potential.

You'll experience cabernet sauvignon's full spectrum, from classic blackcurrant and cedar notes to more unique expressions featuring eucalyptus, violets, and herbaceous characters. The selection spans various palate weights, meaning some wines will be bold and structured while others might be more elegant and refined. This diversity reflects different winemaking approaches and regional influences, from the power of Coonawarra to the finesse of Margaret River styles.

Most of these cabernets are drinking beautifully now, having already developed complexity while retaining their fruit vibrancy. The older vintages like the 2013 and 2014 are at their peak drinking window, showing the integration that comes with proper cellaring. However, cabernet sauvignon's natural structure means the younger wines from 2020-2021 could easily be cellared for another 5-10 years if you prefer more developed, tertiary flavours.

Cabernet sauvignon's natural tannin structure and acidity make it the perfect partner for rich, protein-heavy dishes. Think grilled lamb with rosemary, aged beef steaks, or hearty stews where the wine's structure can cut through fat and complement umami flavours. The herbaceous notes in some of these wines also pair beautifully with dishes featuring fresh herbs, while the fruit-forward expressions work well with dark chocolate desserts or strong aged cheeses.
