1x Hewitson Cask 66 Shiraz 2023
Red — Shiraz
Barossa — Australia
The Boss
From one of our favourite Barossa producers, who have brought us multiple 98 and 99 pointed drops before, comes this incredible special release shiraz that will continue to improve for the next 20 years. Careful maturation in specially selected highest-grade French oak, followed by barrel selection of the finest juice, has helped craft this unparalleled expression of the country's top grape/region combination. Compellingly complex, the nose shows rich, ripe plums and bramble fruit with black cherries. Supporting is an excellent intermingling of charcuterie, black olives, cocoa and liquorice. The palate is simultaneously refined and powerful, with beautifully ripe tannins and a clean line of acidity supporting an incredibly long finish. This is premium Barossa at it's absolute best.
You’d pay $450 full price.

1x Maverick Ahrens' Creek Ancestor Vine Shiraz 2022
Red — Shiraz
Barossa — Australia
This is a big deal. The term 'Ancestor Vines' is reserved only for vineyards planted over 125 years ago. This places them as right up there with some of the oldest living shiraz vines in the entire world, and in this case, they absolutely live up to the hype. Reviewers have called this wine "stunningly beautiful", we couldn't've said it better ourselves. As a general rule, the older the vines, the better the wines. But why? Well, the simplified answer is that as grape vines mature they begin to produce less fruit. As a result, all of the energy, all of the sun and soil, all of the flavour is condensed into less grapes, so you end up with highly concentrated, perfectly balanced fruit with the capacity to create extremely low quantity, extremely high quality wines that could out-last religion. This gorgeous wine is everything you'd expect from these world-famous vines and more. A complex bouquet of dark berries, cake spice, charcuterie and cedar lure in the lucky drinker and sets them up for a beautifully concentrated palate that feels both nuanced and assertive. And that's it, this wine imposes itself on any situation that it finds itself in, in the best possible way. Completely captivating.

Tasting Notes
1x Grant Burge Meshach Shiraz 2022
Red — Shiraz
Barossa — Australia
This one goes out to the connoisseurs, and the true lovers of Barossa shiraz. When we talk about a wine having ‘presence,’ we’re talking about this. A powerful, imposing and timeless Barossa shiraz from a bona fide legend of the Australian winemaking game. Globally sought after. Internationally renowned. Unparalleled craftsmanship. That is to say: this is a big deal. No two ways about it, this wine’s at the big end of town. Lots of fruit, lots of oak, lots of impact. Deeply mysterious in colour; flashes of inky blue and violet purple poking through what is a dark, ominous onyx. Ripe rhubarb and black cherry on the nose, with leather, cedar, and cigar box revealing themselves as the wines allowed to amble around the glass.
Sourced entirely from an old vineyard which was planted in the 1920s, this is one of Australia’s most collected wines from one of the most famous wineries in the Barossa. With the capacity to age for decades, you're not just grabbing this for your dinner party coming up - you're setting yourself up for all the special occasions from now until well into the future. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to own not just a bottle of wine, but a piece of history.
You’d pay $250 full price.

1x Schild Estate Three Springs Shiraz 2021
Red — Shiraz
Barossa — Australia
This particular vineyard, in the Rowland Flat area of the Barossa, sits at 380m above sea-level. At this altitude, Barossa vineyards traditionally produce much lower yields creating highly concentrated fruit of exceptional quality. From the first whiff it's quite apparent, this is a really smart wine. A perfumed nose of the expected dark fruits with floral elements of rose petal and violets. On the palate, juicy plums, dark chocolate, pepper, spice and, of course, a long, smooth, oak-driven finish. This drop is as intense as it is complex and will continue to impress for many years to come. Very, very impressive.
You’d pay $180 full price.

1x Brokenwood Rayner Vineyard Shiraz 2023
Red — Shiraz
McLaren Vale — Australia
A Halliday Winery of the Year. A single vineyard in one of McLaren Vale's most prized sub-regions. And 97 points from Halliday AND Gary Walsh who called it "fragrant, supple and polished" with "magnificent depth." Yep, this is the good stuff. Dark fruit, lifted florals and plum on the nose. The palate is generous and flowing, with black fruits, dark chocolate and a smooth, persistent finish that has both immediate appeal and serious cellaring potential. Blewitt Springs' sandy soils produce shiraz with a perfume and elegance that sets it apart from the over-rich, over-ripe Vale styles - and the 2023 season only made things more interesting. Slow ripening, exceptional freshness, and a fruit purity that shines right through the careful French oak maturation. Elegant, characterful McLaren Vale Shiraz from one of Australia's most celebrated producers. Drink it now or give it time. Either way, you're in good hands.
You’d pay $110 full price.

Tasting Notes
1x Fox Creek Old Vine Shiraz 2022
Red — Shiraz
McLaren Vale — Australia
This is no shrinking violet - it’s an unapologetically plush, full-bodied red built to impress the big-shiraz faithful. Think dark fruit liqueur meets espresso and plum sauce, with waves of chocolate, clove, date and anise all rolling in like a flavour parade. It’s rich, velvety and just this side of decadent, but not without brains. There’s iron and bay leaf cutting through, adding a savoury edge that keeps it from tipping into syrupy territory. Then the finish hits - long, dark and insanely deep - leaving you both satisfied and curious for another glass. This is a wine for the loyal McLaren Vale shiraz-heads. The ones who don’t apologise for loving flavour, weight and a bit of drama in their glass. If that’s you, clear some space in the decanter.
