2x Sorby Adams Reverend Canon Shiraz 2020

Red — Shiraz

Barossa — Australia

This Barossa shiraz speaks of the powerful Barossa terroir and the master crafters who made it. It’s powerful and opulent, but maintains a certain grace that keeps everything in balance. There’s no surprises here with the flavour profile, an expression of blackberry, plum, chocolate, spices and cedar from the use of 30% new French oak. With a little bit of age up its sleeve, this is drinking beautifully now and will continue to do so for more than a decade to come.

You'd pay $75 full price.

2x Auld Family 'The Ernie' Single Vineyard Shiraz 2022

Red — Shiraz

Barossa — Australia

The Barossa Valley is home to quite a few multi-generational wine families. There are legacies as far as the eye can see, stretching across the Barossa plains and rooted as deep as the oldest vineyards. The Aulds are one such family, with the current generation Sam and Jock paying tribute to their lineage who were planting Australian vineyards in the mid 1800's. They know quality when they see it, and they never fail to hit the mark. We guarantee, one sip of the Ernie shiraz and you won't be looking back.

2x Archery Road Longbow Shiraz 2020

Red — Shiraz

Barossa — Australia

From the prized southern part of the sun-drenched Barossa, steeped in quality grown shiraz (you know we’ve done the research) It’s right here, where the surrounding views offer the picture-perfect painting; a diversity of colours from the tree leaves to the soils, which in turn give our favourite grape - shiraz - all the lashings of character we as adults have grown to become obsessed with. A blend of hand-selected low-yielding parcels, you’ll find generous flavours of black fruit, olive and pepper spice, backed by silky tannins, yet the wine is intense on the palate, with a great depth and length. Such a complex finish, and a damn fine gem of a shiraz.

You'd pay $80 full price.

2x Lou Miranda Estate Golden Lion Shiraz 2021

Red — Shiraz

Barossa — Australia

A seriously powerful bottle of wine with other-worldly levels of deliciousness. This is one robust shiraz that can be enjoyed now and long into the future, so don't be afraid to hold on to a couple of bottles.
In the glass, the colour is a deep crimson red and there’s lifted aromas of plum, pepper, vanilla and dark chocolate. The palate is full and generous with dark fruits, interwoven spice and savoury tannins. With Angela Miranda at the helm of the winemaking, this is one well made wine. There's a good dose of American oak in the ageing regime on this, adding a touch of coconut and further vanilla to the wine. It’s ready to go with a big ole’ steak right now or will happily nap in your cellar for 15 years. This big boy is here for you now and in the future.

You'd pay $50 full price.

2x Penley Estate Estate Grown Cabernet Sauvignon 2022

Red — Cabernet Sauvignon

Coonawarra — Australia

Nobody does cabernet quite like Penley, and nobody appreciates Penley quite like us. We love ‘em. Seriously, these guys are Coonawarra legends - take Kate Goodman as a prime example, taking out Halliday Winemaker of the Year in the 2024 Companion. Seriously, that says it all. For lovers of a hearty red, look no further than this estate grown cabernet. It's so luxurious, you won't know what you've done to deserve it. Let us be the first to say: you're worth it Mofo.

2x Turkey Flat Vineyards Butcher's Block GSM 2021

Red — GSM

Barossa — Australia

Comprising of 56% grenache, 38% shiraz and a 6% splash of mataro, expect a plush and fruit forward, medium bodied GSM that is hard not to enjoy. Floral aromatics give way to subtle hints of spice and a minty kick which provides a savoury framing to its dense fruit core.

Barossa Valley’s 2021 vintage displayed such a consistent fruit set that it has gone down as one of the best years in recent memory. Even affordable ‘entry level’ wines (in the hands of skilled winemakers, of course) showcased stunning personality and drive. At this pricepoint, you can crack open a bottle on any night of the week, for any reason and know you’ll be swept up in all the deliciousness and feel very spoilt. Go on, you deserve it.

You'd pay $27 full price.

Frequently Asked Questions

South Australia's diverse terroir creates wines with exceptional concentration and complexity, from the cool climate elegance of Adelaide Hills to the powerful, sun-soaked expressions of Barossa Valley. The region's ancient soils and Mediterranean climate allow shiraz and cabernet sauvignon to develop intense fruit flavours while maintaining excellent structure. This collection showcases that diversity, featuring everything from boutique single vineyard expressions to iconic producer styles that have earned recognition from critics like Ray Jordan with scores up to 96 points.

Start with the lighter, more elegant styles before progressing to the fuller-bodied, oak-influenced wines to avoid palate fatigue. The variety of flavour profiles - from bright cranberry and raspberry notes to rich chocolate and mocha characteristics - means each wine will reveal different aspects when paired with appropriate foods. Consider decanting the more structured cabernet sauvignons and older shiraz releases to allow their complex tannins to soften and integrate, revealing the full spectrum of black cherry, plum, and spice notes.

The diverse flavour profiles in this collection make it perfect for entertaining, as each wine complements different dishes beautifully. The shiraz expressions with their black olive, mocha, and meaty characteristics pair excellently with grilled lamb, beef, or game meats, while the cabernet sauvignon's blackcurrant and mint notes complement herb-crusted roasts. The GSM blend offers versatility with Mediterranean cuisine, charcuterie, and aged cheeses, making this collection ideal for progressive dinner parties or wine and food matching experiences.

Most wines in this collection are drinking beautifully now, showcasing the immediate appeal of well-made Australian reds with their rich fruit expression and balanced oak integration. However, the single vineyard expressions and wines from five red star Halliday rated wineries have excellent cellaring potential of 8-15 years, during which the vanilla and oaky notes will integrate further with the fruit core. The 2020 vintages are particularly well-positioned, having had time to develop complexity while retaining their vibrant primary fruit characteristics.

The impressive array of ratings, including 96 points from Ray Jordan and 95 points from multiple competitions, indicates these wines represent exceptional value at their price point. These scores reflect not just immediate drinking pleasure, but also technical excellence in winemaking, from grape selection through to bottling. The recognition from diverse critics and competitions - from Wine Showcase Magazine to Melbourne International Wine Competition - demonstrates consistent quality across different wine styles and producers, suggesting this collection offers restaurant-quality wines for home enjoyment.
