Why do we love this case?
Forget everything you thought you knew about Black Friday deals. We've gone all out and pulled together one motherf*ckn impressive collection of premium Australian reds that'll have you stopping mid-scroll and doing a double-take.
We're talking legendary producers, beautifully aged classics and some seriously heavy-hitting Shiraz and Cabernet blends. Expect rich dark fruit, savoury complexity, bold structure and the kind of pedigree that deserves a prime spot in your wine rack.
With individual RRPs reaching $120 a bottle, this isn't your average mixed case. It's big, it's bold, and it's got Black Friday written all over it.
The Motherf*ckn Black Friday Mix. Yep, we went there, Mofo.
1x Greenock Creek Marananga Village Shiraz 2018
Red — Shiraz
Barossa — Australia
2018 was one of the great Barossa vintages, and this Marananga shiraz - held in the winery cellar and released with seven years of age behind it - is extraordinary proof of that. One of the Barossa's true cult producers. Tiny production, mailing list only, discussed in wine circles with genuine reverence. When a bottle appears outside those channels, you take your opportunity. The nose is breathtaking - black fruits, cassis, blueberry, dark chocolate, aniseed, smoked meats and dried herbs woven together with remarkable complexity and balance. The palate is juicy and precise, with a line of acidity running the full length, silky tannins and a finish of extraordinary persistence that just keeps revealing more. Seven years of patient cellaring. Twenty more years of potential ahead. Cult Barossa shiraz from a legendary vintage. Rarely available outside the mailing list. Don't let this one get away.
You'd pay $120 full price.

1x Tapanappa Wines Whalebone Vineyard Cabernet Blend 2021
Red — Cabernet Blend
Wrattonbully — Australia
From one of Australia's greatest winemakers. And one of Australia's greatest wineries. Comes the greatest motherf-ckn deal we've ever put together. An aged Cabernet blend that will be instantly recognisable to anyone who's ever enjoyed a glass of wine in this country. This wine is completely and utterly spellbinding. Cabernet Sauvignon leads a four-way blend with Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Shiraz, aged 18 months in 50% new French oak. Fresh fig, boysenberry and bayberry open things up, followed by rose bud and pomegranate molasses. Red fruit sits at the centre, wrapped in coffee and mocha spice. The palate is where it really shows its hand - tannins so silky they practically weave through the wine, length and dimension expanding well beyond what you’d expect from the first sip. It takes a special wine and some good time to build a texture like this. This isn’t a wine you taste and move on from. It sits with you.
You'd pay $90 full price.

1x Peter Lehmann Stonewell Shiraz 2015
Red — Shiraz
Barossa — Australia
For over 30 years this wine has been spoken about in the same breath as the greatest Shiraz produced anywhere in the country. That's not marketing. That's just the truth. The philosophy behind this wine is beautifully simple: find the very best fruit in the Barossa - the small, intensely concentrated parcels that outperform everything around them - and get out of the way. Over three decades of doing exactly that has produced a wine of legendary status. What was once powerful, muscular and demanding has evolved into something genuinely magnificent. The grunt is still very much there - this is Barossa Shiraz with serious backbone and presence - but time has worked its magic. The tannins have settled into something silky and sophisticated, the dark fruit has deepened and complexified, and the ironstone, graphite and earthy minerality that defines this wine has come into beautiful focus. This is a collector's wine. A cellar wine. A once-in-a-while, pour-it-for-someone-special wine.

1x d'Arenberg Dead Arm Shiraz 2019

Impossible to overstate the excellence on offer here. This is superb stuff. There is so much complexity and depth to the wine, something new is ready to reveal itself with every sip. Cassis and black cherry out of the gate. Some riper, richer plums and brambles mix with roasted vegetables and sweet spice. It's powerful but never overbearing, full and rich but precise and focused - everything is as it should be. A wine with genuine presence on the palate. Oomph that doesn't veer into being unctuous. The structure of the wine will ensure it is long lived; while drinking brilliantly now, this is a wine with a conservative two decades left in the tank.

1x Clarendon Hills Onkaparinga Shiraz 2018

McLaren Vale — Australia
We don't say this often. This producer is genuinely one of the best in the country, arguably one of the best anywhere Shiraz gets made. That's not just our words, Robert Parker called them, "one of planet earth's greatest winemakers". Developed, complex, smooth... This is one for people who take their Shiraz seriously. Get your nose in and it's an immediate gift for your senses - black cherry, blueberry and tangy currant, tangled up with crushed rose petal, peppercorn and olive tapenade, plus that distinctly McLaren Vale smoky, meaty undertone running underneath. Layered, savoury, hard to look away from. The palate is a different kind of statement entirely, leather, ripe dark fruit, tobacco notes and an otherworldly velvety mouthfeel, yet, there's real structure here. Time has done its job here. The edges have softened, everything's settled into place, and this is drinking exactly how it was always intended - developed, harmonious, deep. Very few Shiraz in the country are sitting at this stage of their life right now. This is a great opportunity.

Plush blackberries lead the initial swell of fruit on the palate, but then there is much more to discover. Raspberries, black cherries, nettle, espresso, toffee, bramble, cassis and chocolatey, vanillin oak... a certifiable explosion of complex flavour. The wine is structurally perfect, with tannins that build up the gums and toward the lasting finish. The fruit is along for the ride the whole way, persisting through the finish to finally punctuate the wine with moreish juicy berry generosity. A wine that practically begs you to lift the glass to your mouth and take another sip, and who am I to deny it?
