2x Sorby Adams Reverend Canon Shiraz 2021
Red — Shiraz
Barossa — Australia
There's a reason this has become THE Mofo fave Barossa shiraz: it’s powerful, opulent and complex. It's ripe, rich and raring to go. This is completely astounding value, Mofo. This is the style of shiraz that made the world take notice of this ripper region. Simon 'Sorby' Adams is the master craftsman behind this wine (can you say, ex-head winemaker at Yalumba?), so it's no surprise that this is a seriously high calibre wine. Rich expressions of blackberry, plum, chocolate, spices and cedar from the use of 30% new French oak. After four years cellaring time, it’s drinking beautifully now, but has another decade of prime left in it for those patient types. This one is a bestseller for a reason, we invite you to find out for yourself.

2x Auld Family Wines 'The Ernie' Single Vineyard Shiraz 2023
Red — Shiraz
Barossa — Australia
96 points and a 4.2 Vivino Rating are absolutely nothing to shake a stick at. All the hallmarks of classic Barossa shiraz are right here. Generous, bold and packed full of flavour, we're unbelievably stoked with how this vintage is drinking (already)!
The Barossa Valley is home to quite a few multi-generational wine families. There are legacies as far as the eye can see, stretching across the Barossa plains and rooted as deep as the oldest vineyards. The Aulds are one such family, with the current generation Sam and Jock paying tribute to their lineage who were planting Australian vineyards in the mid 1800's. Each sip tells a story of sun-soaked vineyards, family traditions, and a relentless pursuit of quality. After the first taste of Ernie shiraz you won't be looking back.

2x Archery Road Barossa Valley Shiraz 2021
Red — Shiraz
Barossa — Australia
From the sun-drenched Barossa Valley comes this stellar iteration of our favourite grape: shiraz. Full-bodied, robust and bursting with dark, rich fruit. This is a big-time bestseller, for good reason - Barossa shiraz in a nutshell.
A blend of hand-selected low-yielding parcels, you’ll find generous flavours of black fruit, olive and pepper spice, backed by silky tannins, yet the wine is intense on the palate, with a great depth and length. Such a complex finish, and a damn fine gem of a shiraz.
You’d pay $55 full price.

2x Fox Creek Short Row Shiraz 2022
Red — Shiraz
McLaren Vale — Australia
This terrific McLaren Vale shiraz has been winning hearts and awards for over two decades, after just one sip, you start to understand why. Lovely generosity and texture, this one's all about plum, aniseed and rich fruit-cake flavours with spicy oak and light lingering tannin woven into the framework somewhere. This is just... delicious - the only word for it. Rich, powerful aromatics of blackberries, toast and other ripe black fruit lead to a beautifully balanced palate - fresh rich fruit with soft tannins and a long, dry finish that has us begging for one more sip. Lashings of bright plums, raspberries, blackberry and black cherry get the creamy vanilla oak treatment, while fine-grained tannins provide a healthy structure. But here's the magic: that warm, round, luscious ball of flavour in the mid-palate - it's this wine's signature move. This one would benefit from a good decant upon opening. It's certainly suitable for mid-term cellaring. Those earthy textural tannins are firm now but will soften and become elegant with age.

2x Mitolo Wines Jester Black Shiraz 2021
Red — Shiraz
McLaren Vale — Australia
Boasting all the dark fleshy plums and blackberries you can poke a stick at, with subtle but lingering black olive and chocolate nuances. A prized producer and a prized shiraz. This one's got 'long-lunch' written all over it... and a bit of 'dancing on the table with a bottle in your hand after a long-lunch' about it too, if we're honest. These are the wines we love. This is the answer to all of your midweek quaffer conundrums. This is one iconic McLaren Vale producer, known for incredible red wines that speak to their Italian heritage. Texturally, this is smoother than Barry White and a lingering liveliness on the back palate ensures pleasurable quaffing from now right through the next few years. It’s an easy-going medium-bodied drop with surprising balance, depth of flavour and length.
